? about ordering with express shipping

i'm just curious, does the express mail come at the same time as my regular mail? also is there a sig required, just curious cause i have about 900 dubias coming to start a colony and i wanna know when they will be here so i can be home for it, or if i gotta go camp at the post office.

My express mail usually arrives with regular post unless I or the shipper has requested it be held at the post office. Then they call and tell me to come pick it up. Cool getting that many dubias!! I ordered a bunch a year ago and the shipper put them loose in a box that was then sandwiched inside another slightly larger box. What a shock when I opened the second box and dubias ran everywhere!! Just to be on the safe side, open the boxes inside the container you plan to house them in.

Oh, I hope they do too! Here in So. Utah, it's either hellishly hot or brrrr chilly so I have found doing "hold & call" the best way to go when I'm having anything that is alive shipped as nobody will honor a live delivery guarantee when temps get extreme, and who can blame them. Not all post offices will hold a package for you so check with the office that your mail goes through or your carrier. If they will, then, as a courtesy, notify them approximately when you are expecting the package.

How discouraging! Makes me feel really fortunate to have caring, if slow, service. Will keep fingers crossed that your dubias arrive alive and ready to breed!

Signature is not required, and I would call the post office the morning you're expecting delivery (use the tracking number on their website) to see if they have it at the post office. If the shipper or you didn't request to have it held at the post office, it'll be delivered with your regular mail. I live in Houston, but the 2 shipment I got arrived well enough considering the heat. If you're ordering very small nymphs, it might be iffy but I'd imagine the others should be ok. I wanted mine held at the post office, but it ended up being delivered around 4:30 in the afternoon. I was checking my mailbox at work every half hour starting at 1, after I called and they told me they hadn't held my package.
