Aarator things bad?

so this week i decided to start breeding my crickets i bought 500 adults and bought some soil but it has the little white rokc type things that help it air out or something?i also soaked the soil on saturday and its still wet which could be bad? i haven't really seen any of them lay eggs yet but they might have while i wasn't there, the temp is only 75 because thats as high as it goes,thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated!

The white stuff is perlite and won't hurt anything. The soil needs to be damp but not soggy and your temps have to be around 80-85 or the eggs will never hatch. If you have adult crickets, they should have started to lay immediately.

Thanks Gail, I'm going to buy a hratin pad today because the light only gets the temps to high 70's, once I transfer the eggs to another cage and put them on heat how long till they start hatching?

I'm not really sure on that I think its just a few days though. My mom breeds crickets so I don't know all the details.

UH-OH tonight i went to turn the crickets heat light off and i found that their was a small caterpiller looking thing inside of the egg laying dirt,anyone know what it is and if it means anything bad? =/
