A Warning to All...

Just wanted to post a warning for those of you who don’t know. Be very careful when mixing multiple bearded dragons. I had a young male and a young female who I thought would be okay together (they were of similar size) and they seemed to get along but then I came in one day to this. It could have been much, much worse, but it wasn’t and I’m thankful. Another time, I had them both out together and I thought they’d be okay since they weren’t in the tank, and randomly Noah grabs Lily by the neck and shakes her. It was horrifying. So now, they are never together. EVER. Just be very careful, I don’t want anyone else to end up with hurt or dead bearded dragons!

Yes beardies should never be housed together. They aren't social animals and will attack each other. A lot of people don't know this. Thank for this post. It will help a lot of people understand the dangers of housing beardies together.

No problem. I really hope I can save at least one beardie by sharing my personal experience with this matter. It's really not worth housing them together...

poor baby! a lot of people tend to buy two at once due to pet store advice. then when they come here to ask about it and are told differently it's hard for them to understand that a pet store would give out the wrong advice. i'm glad this ended happily without anyone losing a limb or anything. the wound should heal in time and now they'll be nice and safe in their own vivs beautiful baby by the way.

I hate that your baby was hurt, that's for sure, but I've always felt that no beardies should be together, ever. I rescue dragons & have 6 adults, so I've seen the damage that homing together can bring. Did you take her to the vet? She's such a cutie Here's a picture of Rubio, he was 3 mo old when I got him, 24 g and had missing fingers and toes on his right side and I think about 2" of his tail missing, too, hard to tell. He's now 5 yrs old and HUGE :shock: 22" long and 840g:
