A SERIOUS WORD OF CAUTION...

To those who provide your beardies with natural sunlight...please be very careful..Today, after a serious mistake on my part, I lost a pair of beautiful beardies to heat stroke. On occasion, Ive left the three year old pair i raised from about 4 months old on my window screen to get some sun..since i needed to step out i closed them in between the screen and window..ive done this many many times..I was only gone for a little over an hour to return to find my beardies had died. Please dont respond with what I did wrong or how stupid i was..I already know this..I am not a novice and didnt gauge the temperature properly..i am sick over this..I write to caution others who if not careful will make the same mistake...goodbye bud and lou...Ill miss you..

awww man. thats so sad. its crazy cuz i do the same thing. i always suppervise them doe. im sorry for ur loss.

That is sad. I let mine do the same thing, but never close the window, and they air conditioning is always blowing out over them. When they get to hot they just climb down. Sorry for your loss.

Just shows how fast an accident can happen. We just sometimes get sidetracked and distracted.

Thanks to all for your condolences..I buried them earlier at an empty lot under a nice tree near the water...I hope my post prevents others from losing beloved pets...as gogga said, I was out and got distracted..keep thinking if i only came home 15 minutes sooner...it really sucks...
I loved my beardies and plan on getting another young pair at reptile show this weekend. I will certainly be extremely careful with my new pair and the sun...I tried to add a pic of BUD to this post but I think it wound up on the visitor's page.....anyway, thanks again, I appreciate the support
