A question about power outages??

I've been reading a few post here about some of you that are having power outages due to snow storms. I'm up in Canada and our winters can get very cold (-16c) and we do get power outages. I want to make up an emergency kit for just that purpose. I live in an apartment and if the power goes off so does our heat and hot water. Our elevators have emergency generators but that doesn't usually last to long making it impossible for me to get out as I can't do stairs. And a lot of the time the roads aren't shovled for me to use my scooter. (mobile aid like an electric wheelchair) What then should I get for the kit? Now I read here about the air activated warmers and mitt warmers but should I get anything else? I usually keep a good supply of crickets and food so that isn't too much of a concern. I have bottled water as well, I just don't know if I can use it for Draco and Echo in an emergency. I just want to be prepared ahead of time cause I have both Draco and Echo my gecko. :mrgreen: Any suggestions would be appreciated so I can stock up now. Thanks!!!! :mrgreen:

A small cooler to help insulate the heat from the heat packs is probably a good idea. If it is just big enough to fit your dragon and some blankets/towels that would probably be best.

A inverter works well for running low wattage lights. to make it simple it hooks up to a car battery and makes it where you can plug stuff into it. They a pretty inexpensive however the battery can be a little pricey.
I have that and a few hot packs and a ice chest with some towels in it for if the battery runs down.

A small parafin or gas stove so you can boil water to make hot water bottles for them.
