A poop question

To my knowledge, beardies don't poop unless they are very warm and comfortable. For my guy, that only ever happened when he was in the bath or in his viv. I had him out running around on the couch the other day, and he started pooping on the couch! Luckily we have a sheet on that couch, but it was still a shock.

So how can you tell if yours needs to poop? I'm afraid to let him run around on any carpet or soft materials (my bed, my car, etc.) for fear that he'll poop unexpectedly. Any advice?

On another note, how do you tote yours around when taking him for a car ride or for a short outing? Loose, in his own little holder, etc.?

Once their food is digested, sometimes it takes a little running around before they need to poop...you know, once they get things moving...
I let Vinny loose in the truck - which I know has it's hazards - for short outings, to the pet store or what not. She loves to sit in the sun on the dash, some non adhesive shelf liner lets her hold on without sliding...the warmth and vibrations usually result in a poop in the dashboard. Longer trips I put her in a rubber made container with her blankie so I don't have to worry about her running around while at highway speeds. She prefers the dashboard I think.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
