I recently got a new job at a pet store. Today while working a lady came in and informed me that she has a beardie that she doesn't know how to care for and wants to give it away. I instantly told her I would love it! Later on when I got off she met me and gave me her 10 gallon tank with a night light and an old UVB along with her beardie. She explained she found the pet in her place when she moved in and didn't want it. I felt extremely bad after receiving the beautiful beardie because it felt like an ice cube and it was very malnourished. The little one was covered in sand and feces. I have 2 other beardies a male and a female in separate 40Gal tanks. After awhile of being alone the dragon started to wave at my female so I'm assuming its a girl. The lady told me she never touched the beardie so its very afraid to be held and it stresses it out, I am working on fixing that along with bringing it back to proper health. My question is could this beardie have a transferable disease that if I were to put her with my other female could she get sick? also I think she might have eaten her own poo?? she went near the front of her little tank and 10 mins later it was gone, no where to be found... please help, thank you. I will post pictures of Lucky =)

she is almost the same size as my other female beardie.

Yes, if this dragon has parasites it could infect your other dragons if they come in contact. You definitely should not allow them contact, at least not until you get a fecal done.

All reptiles should have a 30 quarantine before introducing to another reptile. The new beardie should have a fecal done on it as well. Besides that, beardies should not be housed together and you should not introduce that new beardie to your female, PERIOD. They are not social creatures to each other and do not need to be housed together, whether they are healthy or not.

That's a little depressing I was thinking of putting a divider in the middle of the tank until I can afford another 40g

You would have to call your vets office and find that out. You can ask them if you can just bring in the feces to have them test it for parasites. If they say yes, then you have to wait for a fresh sample of feces and then take it to the vet soon after. Some vets will not do a fecal test without an office visit. You will just have to ask your vet what they do.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
