A few questions

I feel like I have been posting on this site a lot but I just want to make sure I am a good beardie mom and my beardie stays healthy. :-?

My first question is his poop. I fed him a couple of wax worms and then stopped because it looked like he wasn't getting them digested enough and his poops were huge! So i just fed him strictly small crickets and vegetables. But his poops are still really big. [ximg]83983 6838407172[/ximg] This was one from today. Just want to make sure it looks OK. His poop is not smelly, I mean it might be if I stick my head down in the cage but I can't smell it when I walk in the room or anything.

Second question. How much should he be eating a day in regards to crickets and/or worms. And where is a good place to buy worms or crickets online? I don't want a 1000 of them because we live in an apartment and we don't have room for a tub of crickets. And I was not sure if he is old enough for certain worms (he is a little over 2 months old).

And last question. How do I know if he is getting enough water? He has a bowl of water I keep filled up and I spray him and other things in his enclosure with water. Sometimes I see him lick the water..other times he just looks annoyed. So how do I know if he is getting enough fluid?

Again sorry for the long post but when I was looking through some of the older post I was getting a little freaked out because all I kept seeing was parasites and take them to the vet.

Hi Ashley....compared to their body, it seems like their poos are huge. With some adult dragons, it may look like you have a small dog in the tank at times. It's perfectly normal, and that stool looks perfectly formed. Feed him all the small crix he'll eat twice a day, and if he's eating veggies [ turnip, mustard, shredded collard greens , squash ] that's a plus. :)

You can drip water on his snout for a drink every other day....it's O.K. to spray but just gently on his snout to see if he'll drink.

You will save a lot of money if you order crickets online from a company like Ghann's, Hungry Lizard or Rainbow mealworms. Most worms aren't suitable as a staple for babies [ with the exception of Phoenix or Calci worms ] and are VERY expensive compared to crix. If you buy a small [ but tall ] plastic storage tote you can keep 1,000 crix for about a month, the time it will take him to eat those crix. They may cost you around $26 -$30 including shipping on average.....compare that to what you would spend at a pet store.

Another thing my husband worries about is that the crickets will chirp at night. When you have ordered from those places did the crickets chirp?

Baby crickets up to prewinged crickets don't chirp. So until you order the 3/4" or adult you will not have chirpers. :) Once in a great while a larger cricket is accidentally sent along with the small ones but they are easy to spot and dispose of.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
