My mom who lives in rural San Diego sent me a couple pics of a baby horny toad they found this morning. I was surprised to see how much it resembles our beardies. She's reluctant to let it go because they have a lot of road runners and owls around their place and she doesn't want it to get eaten. It is so adorable! If it's possible to domesticate them I might have her try to send it my way
A couple interesting facts about horned lizards: They can shoot blood out of their eyes when threatened, and the spikes on their heads are actual horns, as in made of bone instead of pointy scales like beardies
