9 months old and still no black beard

Okay so Elyott is 9 months old now and he still can't black beard. He uses his beard. Mostly when i startle him or My other dragon gets too close to his enclosure but he has never blackes him beard. I thought since it was spring and mating time i would start to see him black beard. I have a female and she black beards all the time at my mom, and some times Elyott. But Elyott just won't black beard. Is this normal? He is my firsy dragon i have raised since very young so i am worried. Is it anything to worry about?

I wouldn't worry. My Buster was a late black-bearder, too.

No need to worry. I only see kasai black beard when he's pissed. He never black beards otherwise but still puffs up once in awhile without the black beard.

My Sheldon black bearded about 3 weeks ago. It was quite the site and I've only had him for about 3 months

When I got Rosie he had never black bearded for his owners for two years. We all thought he was a female that is what the breeders told them. I brought a female into the house and he has not stopped even though the female is no longer here.
