Hi guys,
I posted a few days ago under "Enclosures" because I thought it was a heat issue, but I'm getting worried.
Roughly 2-3 weeks ago I noticed a decrease in my boy's appetite and activity level. He is as active as normal when I take him out, but will go to sleep in the early afternoon if I am at work and would probably stay asleep all night if I didn't wake him when I get home. After that if I let him run around for a while he will eat a small amount, but nowhere near what he ate before this started. If I put food in his cage in the AM before work it is usually almost entirely untouched - although he may eat a few mouthfuls of salad. He also has not passed any stool in 3-4 days, although prior to this he was passing VERY large, moist but formed stools every 2 days as a rule.
On days when I am home he seems almost perfectly normal, eats a good amount, but goes to bed early.
Thinking he was too cool (which he was when the colder weather started) I added more heat (new basking bulb and UTH), which he seems very pleased with. He will sleep on his UTH and get up to bask earlier in the morning than he had been. I also started using the Ca with D3 powder (only fed 1 meal so far) in case he wasn't getting close enough to his UVB since he was sleeping so much. Those are the only changes recently, and it was after he started seeming lethargic/depressed.
To answer in advance: Brock is 7months old, male, housed in a 55gal w/paper substrate. ReptiSUN 10.0 tube UVB (new bulb 2 days ago), ZooMed 100watt halogen basking bulb, 60watt household bulb on cool end, 10gal (80F) UTH on warm end at night. 12hour light cycle. Eats crickets (last order from a different place that I will not order from again..), butterworms, mustards, collards, cactus, hibiscus petals, NutriZone bearded dragon Bites, and occasional other goodies (I follow the beautifuldragons.com guidelines). I weighed him yesterday at 332grams. Beginning of the month he was 302grams.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
