Hello all,

My bd Pookie has not eaten or gone to the bathroom in a very long time. And he is doing this very weird thing with his head. It keeps leaning to the right or goes straight up which makes his body flip. When this first started, i thought it might be a calcium deficency so i put more calcium on his food. I am now feeding him human baby food through a syringe. I believe he will not last the weekend. Does anyone know what may be happening?

Hello,

What type & brand of UVB are you using, a fluorescent tube bulb or a compact/coil light? How old is the UVB light?
Great that you increased his calcium, but if you are not using a UVB light or it is too old that it isn't putting out enough UVB emissions then he wont be able to absorb his calcium properly right now.
Can you post a picture of his tank setup & one of him for us?

Thanks.

what have you fed him before he got sick the fact he has not had a bowel movement in a long time and has not ate on his own makes me think of compaction..does he get bathed regularly ?? what is his current cage setup

He did go to the bathroom a few days ago because i soaked him. I soak him every few days so he can go to the bathroom. He was eating crickets and parsley with calcium sprinkled on. I am attaching a pic of his tank. He has a uv light, heat lamp, and a heat emitter. The uv light is new, just changed a couple of weeks ago.

Hes been having eating and bathroom problems for months, i thought he was brumating. It was the head thing that has me really worried. He wont let me feed him today. Im really worried. Im going to try to go to my vet in the morn and see if they see me.

As you can see, Pookie is just laying there on the floor of the tank. So sad.

Hello,

Yes, he looks ill. We need to know what type & brand of UVB you are using, as there are some lights out there that are causing harm to reptiles.

I use ZooMed UV lights.

I brought Pookie to the vet yesterday and he gave him a calcium shot and a vitamin B shot to stimulate his appetite and some fluids because he was dehydrated. He also gave me calcium drops. He is still not eating and pooping on his own. And is not moving much, just to get comfortable. I am going back to the vet on thursday. I am still feeding him baby food through a syringe.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
