Hello all, first time poster and still new at owning a dragon (rather she owns me). A little background and tech details - her name is Jubjub, shes about 4 years old, ive had her only about 6 months and im her 3rd and last owner. Im doing everything by the book (except i use the calcisand). Her basking spot is about 95 degrees, checked with a digital probe on the surface of a log so i figure with her added height its around 98 on her skin. Lets assume though diet is good and health is good.
Now the story...the short version...
There was an adjustment period when i first got her, she was really laid back and didnt move around as much as i thought she would. Shed puff out when i came near and i always respected her boundries. I was told she was an everyday pooper but the first week she didnt poo until i bathed her. A few more days went by and i bathed her again because she still wasnt pooping regularly despite eating her own weight each day lol. Anyway...i started to notice she hates pooing in her cage (to date she has only pooped in her cage a handful of times, very reluctantly and usually only about half as much as a normal bowel movment (she saves the rest for later). She started brumating for the first time and slept/ didnt eat for about 3 months (great for a new owner....believe me i was on this website every day). I figure the temps were a little low and that caused her to think it was winter (it was) not to mention the new environment actually had a hiding place and no dogs keeping her on edge. So it was past the time for her to wake up so i jacked up the heat alot for a few days and she woke up...a little too awake. She eats fine and no sign of diseases. Now she is constantly scratching every morning for hours, without pause (if my message is jumbled its cuz she is scratching now and driving me insane). Her face started shedding about 2 weeks after the scratching started and about 3 weeks after waking up. My thoughts are she wants out to poop as i got her used to that. It could also be she wants attention because ill bring her out, set her on me or the couch and she wont move more than an inch for hours, but shell run everywhere if shes on the floor as long as i am folowing her. Ill stroke her back and she usually closes her eyes and rubs her neck into the couch. I feel horrible ignoring her so i usually take her out when she scratches (oops?).
Basically my question is...is she just super hyper because its spring time/ mating season, she was shedding, she likes me, or she has so much built up energy from a long slumber?
