6 month beardie

Hi, my 6 month old female bearded dragon has slowed down eating she was eating lots every day and has really thrived. She is 334grams and isn't loosing weight but not gaining loads also. She is 17 1/2 inches. Temps are 100 basking 85 cool end. I use a ceramic heat source and 10 uv light. She is on reptile tiles and is pooping almost every day. Last few days there normal size and normal amount of urates. She has been eating dusted crickets but since not eating she is more interested in locust. Up until now she has been gaining 20-30 grams a week now only 15grams. I just wondered if it's normal to slow down at this age? Also she is active every afternoon knocking to come out, I was syringe feeding for the first 2 weeks repashy for bearded dragons and critical care. I stopped it this week as I think she was getting to use to me feeding her. Thanks in advance for any replys.

Hi there....even though she's young she's growing quickly and now is big enough to go on a little hunger strike or just get plain old picky about her feedings. Many dragons do go through such a phase as they approach adulthood...usually nothing to worry about.

If it continues for a long time + she seems lethargic you could have a fecal test done, but I think it's just a phase.

Hi. Are you using a bright white basking light? A ceramic heat emitter is for night if your tank gets below 65.

Hi, yes sorry never put spot light for basking in my question. She has put on 16grams since Monday so I'm not going to worry now. She is only wanting to eat large locust she is managing them fine but I watch her and bath her every day where she always poops. Hopefully she is back on track, I think I worried because she was growing so big and then came to a stand still.
