55 gal???

Hi there! I know it's been awhile. My son is wanting to get a beardie now. I have a 30gl on standby for a baby but know that he'll need to go bigger quickly! I found a 55gal and the dimensions are....
12 1/2 inches wide
4 1/4 long (ft???) she didn't say so i'm assuming.
tank is 1ft 9 inches deep

Are these dimensions ok? i know that a 40gl is the minimum but i remember when i was first starting out that some said a 55gl is to short? Just checking before i buy!!! THANKS!!!

You might want to find something a bit wider.. maybe 16" so that they won't have trouble turning around inside since they will definitely be longer than 12".

I have 2 55 gal-they pretty much stink-they are very deep, too. We have to use a step stool to get in and out of the tank. Makes it hard to keep warm. I would go with the 40 breeder.
