48in reptisun

ugh ok, so i got a 48in double bulb fixture for free from a rental property i cleaned out. it was the one from walmart. and without doing research and just assumed that i could do what i wanted to do with this fixture i am now stuck with a 48in reptisun that doesnt work in this fixture. the fixture i have is an average t8 flourecent and they are rated at 32watts because 95% of t8 bulbs are 32 watt. except my freaking reptisun thats rated at 36. I CANT FIND A FIXTURE ANYWHERE. i also thought id be able to run a 32watt that came with it and my reptisun but aprarently you cant run 2 diff wattages. so basically i need a single bulb fixture for this and i cant find one. anyone know of where to get one? or other suggestions besides getting a diff bulb.

What you seek is the mysterious single bulb T8HO fixture, that does not exist in the commercial world for under 200.00.

Get a single bulb 48" T8 fixture from Lowes

open it up and take out the existing 32W ballast, then install a Workhorse33 ballast available at http://www.1000bulbs.com/search/?q=workhorse+33+ballast using the following schematic:

You have now created your own T8HO Fixture that will fully power the ReptiSun 10.0 48" 36W bulb.

the mysterious 36watt fixture that doesnt cost horrible amount of money has been found !! no need to replace ballasts. a few years back i had a Halloween party and bought a few 48in blacklights from spencers gifts at the mall. after i determind the bulb they sent me a dud i had a new one sent to me. in the mean time i was hell bent on finding a proper fixture. i looked at these blacklights and noticed the bulb was a 36watt and i became excited. after a little more research the fixture can handle a 36 or a 40watt 48in bulb! SCORE and for only 30$$? u cant beat it. only thing is is that its non reflective. i personally dont need a reflective fixture so its cool. check it out. http://www.spencersonline.com/product/48-blacklight1?w=blacklight
