4 yr old male OBSESSED with my yearling gal

Hey Guys, question: Gizmo my 4-5 yr old male, and miss Punkin (a yearling now) are OBSESSED with each other, I haven't yet officially introduced them other than through glass or screen, but they're stacked by my patio window and can see each other's reflections, also can smell each other on me when handling. Does this obsession pass? Gizmo seems to be excreting sperm plugs (seems like it to me anyway) I get he wants to mate. (I don't want them to) should I completely separate them and keep them out of view of each other? Or could I expect this to pass at some point? Giz isn't eating much, and I'm concerned about nose rub, suggestions?

It's really best if they can't see each other. In the wild they'd mate and go on their way but here they are just stuck wondering why they can't meet up which is pretty stressful for them. The female can become fearful too, the male more frustrated.
