4 month old translucent closing his eyes

Hi I just got a 4 month old beardie a week ago. I had a six year old dragon that I had to put to sleep because she had a huge tumor in her intestines. So I'm not new to bearded dragons. My new boy is a hypo trans and I noticed him closing his eyes quite a few times a day. I tried googling it and I was reading that translucents could have eye problems? How can I help this? Do his little eyes hurt!?

Thank you! I am using a Reptisun 10.0 and a 50watt basking bulb. He is in a critter condo so it holds heat well.

The set up looks good. Does the basking bulb have neodymium? That I know bothers the eyes. If not you can try rinsing his eyes with plain saline eye solution.

Hello,

I definitely don't want to discourage the use of the stronger UVB, the Reptisun 10 tube bulb. I don't think the basking light has a neodymium coating, which is good. Are the temperatures good in the tank, using the 50 watt?
They do tend to be a little more sensitive to UVB lighting. What is the distance the UVB light is from him? What you could consider is to get a dual light/tube fixture & buy a 65K daytime (no neodymium) just a brightness tube bulb, & use it alongside of the Reptisun 10 tube just for extra brightness.
For now, you can get some sterile saline solution to rinse his eyes out daily to see if that helps, too.
