3 week old beardie affraid of crickets

I have a quick question.
Why is my 3 week old beardie affraid of crickets ?
When I put a few small crickets in a seperate container with my beardie for feeding, he freaks out and starts jumping everywhere and tries to climb the sides. Please help

aww, poor thing. Have you successfully fed him in a separate container b4? Maybe hes scared cause hes not in his house? I tried to feed mine in a bin at first and it was a total fail. They both freaked out just like your describing. Have you tried to feed him in his tank?

Yes I tried feeding him in his tank. same thing happens. He will eat 1 or 2 crickets. The crickets tend to get lost in his 10 gallon tank.

hmm.. maybe since hes soo young hes just scared in general? Relocation stress from out of the egg? You could try getting some roaches or worms that you could leave in a bowl so they cant hide all over the tank and see if he likes them better? 1-2 crix def isnt enough, but at least he is eating something.. How long has this been going on? Did you hatch him? or did you just get him? Im thinking hes rlly stressed, hes had a lot of changes here lately. Give him a while to get used to everything and his appetite should pick up. Give him baths in the meantime (water up to his elbows, luke warm) and hell soak it up thru his vent and thatll keep him hydrated. But hes so little hes probably just stressed, does he have stress marks on his belly?
