Hello everyone, I cannot find a thing on google so I'm a bit new to this. My baby beardie is 3.5 months old, been with her sister since I got them at 2 months old, they love sharing a basking spot and never have to compete for food. I believe it was two days ago I started noticing she wasn't being as active and just sleeping in her hot spot(measures 110F, repti5 UVB directly beside the heat lamp) she would only pay attention to a hornworm instead of her normal waxworms and crickets and the occasional fresh shed super worm, and is having issues (again) shedding her torso. (For that issue I bathe daily and massage olive oil into the skin, got it off last time not working so well now though) I decided today I'd bathe her again, put her in the tub she drank lots (also has a water dish in the tank and I mist) when she finished drinking something seemed off so I picked her up and she regurgitated her hornworm. She is currently sleeping on my chest(never does that, always too active) and I have no clue what I've done wrong! :(
Husbandry-
5.0 UVB beside basking spot
100watt heat lamp with UVA
Hot spot 110 cool side 80
Crickets an waxworms offered twice a day (calcium dusted every day)
Kale in the morning
2 hides one on each side
Paper towel substrate changed every other day and spot cleaned daily
30% humidity

Routine-
15 minute bath daily
Kale in the AM, one full leaf and it's gone by night
Crickets offered 1hr after heat lamp turned on for the day
Wax worm dessert (2 each)
Superworms offered 4 hours later (only fresh shed)
Last meal offered 4 hours later (1 hornworm)
Lights turned off 3 hours later
Let me know if I missed something, this girl is my baby and I don't want to lose her.

How big is the tank? They get stressed out fairly easily.
Has it been going to the bathroom?
Horn worms can be a lot for a beardie that size.
Shedding can cause some lethargy and loss of appetite.
Have you checked them for parasites?
I'm not sure if rubbing olive oil on the skin is a great idea. While it's okay to ingest, I wouldn't rub anything besides water on the scales when shedding. I'm sure oil could increase chances of their scales burning under the light as well.

Hi. The uvb light you have does not put out the proper amount of uvb. You need a reptisun 10.0 Tube. Also how are you taking the temps? Superworms should only be fed to beardies 16 inches or bigger. Kale is not a good staple you can mix it with other greens. Kale binds calcium. As for this one not being well you probably will need to separate. Beardies are territorial and not social with their own kind.

I would seperate them immediately. While there have been cases of 2 female dragons cohabitating without obvious issues, it will always be stressful to the submissive dragon and there have been many a cases of dragons living together for 6,7,8 years and they come home one day to a dead dragon. Bearded Dragons are not social animals, only coming together in the wild to mate, and housing them together like such is both unnatural and unfair.

Also, that UVB is inadequate. Depending on whether or not that is a T8 strip fixture, t5 strip fixture, or a compact coil light and also distance from UVB source will determine whether you would need a new fixture as well or just the bulb. What style uvb light are you using? What is the distance from basking spot to UVB?

Hi there...pics can be helpful. Also, what size hornworm did you give her ? Post a pic of them as well. Here's how:
https://www.beardeddragon.org/useruploads/
Then hit the XIMG button.

Be sure to allow at least 2 but preferably 3 hours time to bask in the heat after the last meal to allow for digestion. The hornworm may have been too large, fed too late and/or the late night bath chilled her. She should bounce back soon, just be sure about the things I mentioned.

Syoung27- the tank is 30x12x24 (L.W.H.)
I am unsure if she has been going to the washroom, I will find a second tank and monitor it.
The sister has had no problems with hornworms but I realize it depends on the beardie, they were only 2 inch max
No I have not have them checked for parasites
And internet has failed me, I never thought of the burning part. It was recommended when I looked up stuck shed.

Destiny1998
It is a coil 5 inches from the basking spot,
The internet again has failed me, I read that juvies can have them and it's even better if they're fresh shed.
I have a infrared gun and a probe thermometer
What other greens do you suggest? They don't even batt an eyelash at anything else.

Hkzfordayz-
They are both submissive to each other, does that mean they're both possibly stressed? They always arm wave and still share the same space.
It is a coil that's 5 inches away from the basking spot, they only ever leave the basking spot to eat and sleep at night.

I will attempt posting new pics now, also it was classified as medium, I can measure if needed

At their current age right now, i doubt either would is stressed right now , but i would still seperare them as soon as it is possible, as even before dominance issues start to present themselves, tails and toes can still be mistaken for food.

CFL (compact fluorescent light) bulbs don't produce adequate UVB for our dragons. (Exception being some of the uvb200 , but you in order to get a proper uvb gradient it would require using multiple fixtures) i recommend getting a t5 high output fixture , and either a t5 reptisun 10.0 or an arcadia 12 , those are the only bulbs we have found that consistently provide adequate UVB without issues. At the very least I would recommend switching to a t8 fixture depending on your enclosure size , and getting a t8 bulb in either variety listed above, those are effective of distances to 6-8 inches , The t5 fixtures deliver optimal UVB at 12-14"

With this bulb
Reptisun 10.0 Uvb T5 High Output Linear Lamp https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AQU8HAO/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_dSUbxbX6C2W3G

Or if you can afford the few extra bucks, id recommend this combo

Thanks for answering. Here is a site that lists what kinds of greens to feed beautifuldragons.com. Also that tank is not very big for 2. They grow very fast. One adult needs a 40 gallon minimum. Petco has a dollar a gallon sale going on right now. They are very cute :D

Heh heh petco I wish, I live in Canada :) currently snowing actually! Do you suggest looking for the full kits for beardies (petsmart which is our petco sells them) or go for an actual aquarium?

Hello,

I am thinking that perhaps the worms could be a little too large & she is having trouble digesting them fully. Is her sibling having any trouble? They looked like they were pretty close to the same size, correct?
Could her sister possibly be dominating her a little bit by getting more of the heating?
Do you have any probiotics such as non dairy soy yogurt or non dairy acidophiliz around? That could help settle her tummy some also.

Tracie-
Her sister had no problems and actually neither did she the first time she had it, and they go back and forth between who's in the center of the light. They usually sit side by side on the end of their basking rock, and even halfway down it the rock is 97f. I will try to get some of the yogurt you mentioned to see if it helps. She is eyeing her salad right now shock seems really good :)

Hello,

That is terrific she seems to be feeling a bit better today. Did she end up eating any greens at all?
I hope you are able to find some of the yogurt also, maybe that will help settle her tummy down. :D
Let us know how she is doing.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
