I got my beardie about 2 months ago and she's shed twice and is 9 inches long i was wondering if there was a way to tell a aprox age for her? And also a buddy of mine give me a 40 gallon breeder for her that i was plannin on tileing and was wondering if there was any specific tile i should use and if there was any good ways to tile onto a glass bottom of the tank? thank you.

Size depends on a few factors, but I'd guess around 3-4 months. poor husbandry, diet, or illness can stunt their growth, and of course genetics plays a hand in it.

tile: a lot of people use paper towels or something else to act as a buffer for the glass bottom. some people grout the tiles together, some leave it so they can take up only what is needed to be cleaned. I don't have a lot of tips for that. I have not yet gotten my tile. I hope soon though. Slate is a popular choice, and IMO looks rather nice. That's what I plan on getting. The main thing is you don't want it to be glossy or otherwise it'll be like a slip'n'slide in there.

i tried paper towel, i tried tiles....

non adhesive shelf liner is by far the best choice. crickets cant get under it, cheap, and easy to clean

I used slate and I grouted mine...i found a type of grout that had the sealant in it already. I also used a sticky pad underneath the slate to hold them in place while I grouted them. It is pretty and once it is done it is done. I used 4x4 and 2x2 pieces of slate.

go into the introduction forum, go to trixie and dixies cool digs, their using formica, looks like sand, lighter than tile, and easy to clean. one piece so no groves that have to be grouted, and if you don't grout, no grooves for your beardies nails and toes to get stuck in.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
