I needed an upgrade for my one year old dragon. I saw this on sale for $99 and copped it.

As you can see on the right side of the tank there is a mesh vent. As of right now I have his basking platform on the right side, but now I'm second guessing myself. Should the vented side be the cool side of the enclosure?
Also this terrarium does not lay flat of the ground as it is held up on four hard plastic legs. I have already put 5 real rocks in the tank weighing 5-10 lbs each. (And don't worry they do not get too hot they only feel slightly warm). Would it be too risky to add slate tiling as well? There does seem to be two layers of glass on the bottom side.
