2 Males - Will they try to mate??

I recently got what I think are two adult male bearded dragons that are housed together and they are trying to mate. I used to have a small breeding colony several years ago and my wife decided to surprise me with a couple not knowing two males couldnt be housed together. We have plans to separate them as soon as possible but right now we just have the one enclosure.

Tonight they had a rather aggressive breeding session where the dominate male had a full black beard and inverted hemipenes. He latched on to the other and gave it the full college try...

Is this normal???

Yes, there will always be one that dominates + tries to mate any other dragon in the tank, male or female. For a quick fix to separate them, try one of those extra large storage containers from Home Depot/Lowe's and you can get an aluminum dome light fixture for heat there as well [ plain housebulbs will do for heat ]

normally 2 males together will give you territorial battle one will always be dominate. u need to separate them

Thanks for the replies. We are bringing in another tank this week to get them separated. I knew they would be territorial but had no idea that they would actually try to copulate...
