They seem to get better with time. My Reptar was quite the hellion, but he has mellowed quite a bit as he has gotten older. He used to try to bite, but he eventually just stopped. It was all learning how to handle him. I also had to reconsider how I was holding him. I had to slide my fingers under his chest and try to move them up under his front feet to pick him up. I found he was a lot calmer if he could hold my fingers and he was fully supported. Keep trying with Kip. It may seem like it takes a long time for them to warm up, but once they do, it is so worth the wait.

hahah today zilla did the cutest thing, i had his whole body on my hand after he had been sleeping on me, so i figrued i would just let him slide off and he clung onto my hand for dear life and once i got him on his log he looked at me like "oh... :(" i wish i could let him sleep out of his tank with me but hes so small and i have 2 cats and a dog,and i dont trust him ;P

I'm not sure how long he is. I've never measured him. :p I bought him as a baby at Petco :) I'm starting to handle him everyday now since it's winter break and i haven't been so busy with school and other stuff. I'm about to go handle him right now. I put him in my bathroom and let him run around with the door closed so i won't loose him. I'll tell you how it goes!!

So i took him out of his cage and when i fully supported all of his legs he calmed down. When i set him down he just kinda stared at me for a long time. I put him on my lap and he ran off. Just the same old...

Our girls (Goldie's 2.5 years, more or less, Rosie's almost 2.5 years) still try to run off us sometimes, when usually they like to stay on us. This is usually because they are getting active and want to run someplace, or want us to put them in the window to look outside, or take them outside. They do this when they feel they haven't had enough outside time, then they usually run to the front door, knowing that's the way to get outside. This time if year that can be more prevalent because some days it's too cold to take them outside.

Your beardie may just want to be active and run, even tho he is probably getting more used to you.

Thanks for your comments! Yes, i think i've noticed a slight change in Kip's attitude towards me. Now he doesnt struggle much when i try to pick him up. I figured out if i fully support his legs he clams down a BUNCH! good stuff :)

sometimes Puff puts his hind legs close to him, and I think he kind of looks like a frog... sometimes he'll lay on his belly with his lets straight out behind him... and sometimes all 4 go out to the side and he's flat like a pancake! Puff usually does weird things when he's tired outside the tank... When he's not tired outside the tank, he's running around like crazy. I like to clamp one of my basking lights to the seat of a chair and put a rock or something under it, so that he can run and run and run, then when he gets cold, he can climb up on the rock to warm up, then he'll go run and run and run, then plop back down on the rock... he'll repeat this for hours, then he'll usually find me or a corner, and take a nap. he's got pretty buff legs from all that running too... :)

If you look towards the top of the page, there is a link to the home page, an a link for "care sheets and articles" Click on "care sheets and articles" and the third article down is about brumation. I personally don't know much about it because I personally havn't had a beardie do it. I'm sure you can find more info on YouTube.com or you can google it... I learned some about it in a book called "The Bearded Dragon Manuel"

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
