1st time beardie owner...love this site!

Hello all! My name is Heather, and I got my 1st beautiful beardie last week. I named him Gucci! He's about 3 months, so is he still considered a "juvie"? He's eating small to medium crickets 3 times a day, but so far i have had little luck w/ veggies. He'll lick cantalope pieces, and he's had a few little shreds of red leaf lettuce, but im wondering if there is a beardie favorite that i should try? Also, how often should i bathe him? I did yesterday and he hated it! Should the water be warm? Poor thing looked at me like i was torturing him!!! Overall- i am just in love w/ my little guy...he's sooo funny, he likes to watch me just as much as i love to watch him. I love this site 2, so much valuable info on here for us beginners!! Well, this was my intro...looking forward to posting often and reading your stories and advice!!! <3

The water should be warm, not hot. test it with your wrist, if its too hot for you it is definately too hot for your baby. Have the water level nearly up to his shoulders, so some like a 1/4" give or take a little right now.

Hello and welcome Yep, he's still a juvie - won't be considered an adult until he's 12-18 months old. When my dragon was young I prefered to give her a bath every three days or so, just to make sure that she stayed well hydrated. She didnt' like them at first, but she got used to them after a while and yes, the water should definately be warm.

yeah i cant wait to see pictures also. Crovax(my beardy) is also picky with his veggies he likes Kale and yellow squash the most. And he also will eat cherries, strawberries and rasberries but I try to only give him those as treats every so often.

Thank you all for the suggestions! I just got done bathing him in warmer water, and what a difference, he was a lot calmer this time! I will try some new veggies 2morrow. I tried collard greens today and had some luck. He's really getting over his shyness...he let me walk around the house with him for a long time...seems like he liked exploring life beyond his tank! I cant figure out how to post pics, ive taken a bunch!

you have the right idea on how to do it you just have to use one of the many websites that will host your pictures and then put the address they give in the post
