18 watt reptisun on 17 watt fixture

So im building a new enclosure for my beardie and expected new baby beardie. I ordered my 2 new 24" reptisuns which are 18 watts i guess. I bought 2 fixtures ahead of time and didnt even think to check the wattage. I found out that they are 17 watts... im not too big on lighting but im pretty sure that this wont work. And if i am right, does anyone here know where i can get cheap fixtures? i just think that its ridiculous to pay like $35 dollars each for one when i know i can get a better deal somewhere. I dont care what brand they are

Go to Home Depot or Lowes you can get them for really cheap there. I bought a 48 inch one and just took off the cover( because it had the metal sides on it) and it works great. I forget what I paid I think it was like $10 dollars.

i went there but couldn't find any for cheap and none of them were 18 watt. only 17 watt. it just seems like 17 is a unusual wattage. Would these be ok? im not good with electrical stuff

Honestly I dont remember even seeing watts on my fixture it goes my size of the bulb like T8. You are talking about a flourescent bulb right?

don't worry about the wattage. the bulb is a t8 and as long as you get a t8 fixture, you will be fine.

thank you Nair thats what i thought. I never even paid attention to the wattage so I got a little confused. With that being said you should be able to find them at Home Depot I got an 18 inch from there. If they come with a cover definitely take it off too.

where did you order the bulbs from they could have the wattage wrong i went through something similar when i ordered a 4ft repti-sun which was listed as a36watt bulb so i ordered a 4ft combo hood which did not work so in process of sending it back i found out that the bulb was 32watt bulb and was able to use a fixture from lowes check with who you got it from they will be able to tell you what the watts are good luck

i got mine from petmoutain. im just worried that if i dont get the wattage right then my bulbs wont put out the correct uvb
