10.o uvb on top of mesh or in cage

I currently have a repti sun 10.0 uvb tube. It's mounted inside the cage but I read somewhere that the 10.o t8 is meant to go on top of the mesh. I was wondering because my baby beardie has been getting larthagec and eats slower and thought many that the uvb was too strong.

The mesh will filter out a lot of the UVB so keep the t8 mounted on the inside. Your dragon should be able to bask and be within 8 inches of the tube.

If your dragon is acting lethargic and not eating a vet visit may be in order, especially if you have a proper set up. You can look at the care sheets on the home page, compare with you set up, and make adjustments as needed. If the dragon is still not eating or acting unwell test for parasites.

the t5 is more suitable for mesh top enclosures. T8 will be better under the mesh, definately see if you can set it up under the screen.

just to make sure, if you havent done so already make sure you remove the plastic cover which comes with the fixture. if mounting under the screen is not an option then see about making or buying a reflector.
