Hi all, my 10 month old bearded dragon appears to be brumating! She has been trying to brumate for about a month, but I kept picking her up and putting her back under her basking spot! For the past 6 days she has not moved, hiding in the shade and fast asleep! She does slightly open her eyes if I touch her or try to move her and puffs out so her spikes dig in to me! My only worry is that she is not a large beardie to start with and I'm scared off her loosing weight, and not getting enough uvb! Nothing has changed in her viv and temps in hot side is 100 Fahrenheit and cool area 78! I use an Arcadia uvb a t5. I've read lots of posts that state at this age she shouldn't brumate! Do I leave her or do I wake her?

She does sound a bit young for brumation. Your lighting is good so I wouldn't suspect that being an issue. How does she behave if you take her out of the tank? Does she stay aggressive? I would try to track her weight and see if that is stable which would be a good sign. If she's looking otherwise healthy and she keeps acting defensively toward you perhaps letting her be for a while is the best course.

She's fine, not been aggressive at all! No black beard, she's actually awake now but off food, basking with her headheld high!! I will keep track of her weight thanks

OK that's a good sign. She may have just gone through a sleepy phase which they do now and then.

Might be due to weather, been nasty weather there lately ?
....All my gang hunker down usually before it arrives (better weather forcasters than the BoM).

Or it may be the UVB light is getting too long in the tooth , how old is it ?
....most require replacing at about 6 months old because the phosphors decay over time.

Is the photoperiod still the same (about 14 - 16 hrs per day) ?

Yes the weather is very extreme here, stormy and rainy then goes warm! Totally crazy in the uk! I bought the Arcadia t5 in April this year so only a few month old. I put her lights on from 7.30-22.00 She has totally gone off crickets and locusts. I have bought some morio worms and she has eaten 6 today. Are these good or bad food? How often can she have these?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
