1 Month with Ouros

Well Ouros has his/her quirks, first off I was told he was a male when I got him, but now the two bumps they showed me are gone.....flashlight method looks female...but only 8" long at this point and still young I think.

I tried cactus and only had one piece never touched it again, pumpkin puree same thing, only thing Ouros will eat is chard for greens.

I moved from crickets to dubia roaches, and she loves them, but the pricing....I might have to give her up lol. I tried nutrigrubs only way she will eat them is if I do not feed her for 2 meals then she gives in and eats them.

I got a new feeder dish with a lip on it for life feeders so no more corralling them into a corner so she can feed.

I tried the freeze dried crickets again....she takes poop on them, If I am late feeding her she poops in her food dish....and recently if I do not feed her enough. OK SHE PICKED up the food dish with her front legs moved it to the front opening door of her enclosure and WAS TAPPING it on the glass....I was amused and bewildered she did this....I actually gave in and gave her a few more roaches. (she ate 10 for lunch already and 15 for breakfast PLUS the dusted meal worms she insist I give her....Yeah I know they might cause impactation but the little princess/prince loves them and shows no issues with them.

Evenings and mornings she gets restless and starts running around the enclosure, I have to taker he our and let or cuddle on my sleeve or chest. She starts wiggling and rubbing her head and body against me....sure seems like cuddling but I might be misinterpreting it.

I also noticed a weird behavior during this last shed....she was running along the side of the enclosure then barrel rolling against the side and the items in there and kept this up til I helped her. I sort of just pinched the loose skin and she walked forward pulling it off and seemed much better after. Again unsure if this is something I should do but figured if it hurt her she would stop and wait til I let go.

Persist with the live insects , at her age a MINIMUM of TWO , THREE is BEST , feeds of LIVE INSECTS per day are MANDATORY.
Regarding crickets or roaches , try to get them just a little shorter than space between her eyes and buy them in bulk (maybe 500 per order) will work out much cheaper than buying too small and in small batches from local petshops.
At her size I recommend 1/5 (20day old) - 1/4 (25day old) size crickets.
Regarding BSFL (nutrigrubs) …. give then quick bath (dump in dish of water and then immediately fish out …. this will take the dirt off them and make them more appealing.
Try 1" long silkworms …. very few dragons can resist them once they see them and taste them.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
