    Feeding too little

For an adult beardie, this does seem reasonably okayish. But in the wild beardies aren't like snakes or crocodiles, which will eat one large serving and then won't eat for long amounts of time. Bearded dragons on the other hand, hunt for insects almost everyday. Feeding your bearded dragon every...

    LOST LIZARD OUTSIDE HELP

I come from Australia as well, and I didn't own shinglebacks, but I did own blue tounges at one stage, and I can tell you that they are very sneaky little animals! Considering you said that there are shinglebacks living in your area (if I read that correctly) hopefully your neighbour wouldn't of...

New dragon - is it healthy?

Sounds good. I'm sure he is very glad to be put in new, and better hands! The claws should cause him no pain. It is unlikely they will grow back. The only way it may affected him is when it comes to clinging onto to surfaces, so just make sure your extra careful when you hold him. Hope this...

New dragon - is it healthy?

He looks like he has suffered from a lack of UVB and/or calcium. The missing claws are probably from unproper sheds that cut off the circulation and eventually made the claws fall off. He could use some good UVB, some calcium and maybe a bath and some water droplets to the mouth. How is he doing...

Spike has pink around his mouth

Very sorry to hear about your loss, beardies are very good at hiding their illnesses and sometimes they can just disappear without notice. Hope the little guy rests in peace. :(

    1 month old beardie

To prevent overheating, you can set up a timer to your bulbs or set up a thermostat, however those are quite expensive. What wattage are your bulbs? I would also reccomend not just leaving fruit in there for your beardie, for two reasons, it will rot and two beardies need to be provided with...

    Sleeping lots and not eating

Does he have insects apart of his diet? Also, having a water dish in your beardies enclosure can be very dangerous as they can fall in it during sleep and shock themselves with the change of tempature, your better off giving your beardie a drink by spraying water droplets near their mouth or...

What substrate do you use? What is his main source of food? (insects) Is it a UVB tube or coil compact?

I have heard people use small carriers with heat mats, but I'm not 100% sure on how to use them.

Can I feed ants to bearded dragons?

Makes sense! Yes, in outback Australia we do have very large ants, and it is quite a shruby landscape. I don't know an awful lot about American ant species, but if the formic acid seems harmless then perhaps it is okay? I haven't heard a beardie eating a scorpion, but by knowledge there are...
