A successful vet visit and happy dragon :)

I recently "adopted" an 8 year old bearded dragon named Oscar. I am so glad I found this forum before he came home because I was able to gather so much information and get everything I needed for him. He had some big changes to get used to..no more sand, a new bulb, no "night light", different...

Oscar is home and doesn't like not having sand

I'm not sure if the dial is working properly. I have a temp gun I got on amazon that I have been using. The top of his rock is a little over 100 but the floor in front is about 85. It gradually cools to 71 at the other end of the tank.

Oscar is home and doesn't like not having sand

I'm worried about him today, he hasn't left his hide today. His head is out and he seems to be looking around a little but hasn't come out since I put his lights on and hasn't eaten.

Not wanting to stress out new beardie..

So I am very excited to be welcoming home Oscar, a 7 year old bearded dragon I "adopted" from a friends son. Not only is Oscar in a new home, but a lot about his enclosure has changed. He was on sand, now he is on tile. He came with a compact coil UVB, but it was in its package so I'm not sure...

Oscar is home and doesn't like not having sand

Oscar is a 7 year old bearded dragon that was given to me today. At his last home he had a compact uvb, a red "night light" and a basking light. I tried to follow that picture in the "light for newbies" post. The light above his rock is his basking light, the middle is a CHE-because it gets cold...

    First time buying dubias

Thanks for getting back to me. The keeper I have is 9" L 6" W and 6.5" H if its too small I could keep the phoenix worms in there with the all natural wheat bread and baby food and get a bigger rubber maid Tupper ware for the roaches?

    First time buying dubias

Hello! I am preparing for my beardies arrival. I am "adopting" an eight year old male from a friends son. His diet now is mainly acorn squash and crickets "every now and then." I'm excited to get him on a more balanced diet with daily greens, other veggies, and so on. I would like to use dubias...

    Alternative Roach/Superworm Keeping

Great post, thanks for sharing. That time lapse was very cool to watch. I'll be adopting my beardie soon, trying to learn more about dubia and all the other feeders. The set you have for them is just awesome!

    Substrate change for adult dragon

Thanks for getting back to me. It didn't even occur to me he might not have much experience climbing and jumping, I will be sure to set things low when I set up. I appreciate the substrate advice. I like the idea of a squishy liner, I'll look into that before I decide to buy tile.

    Substrate change for adult dragon

Hello! I am "adopting" a 7 year old beardie from a good friend of mines son. I have always wanted a bearded dragon, and have been doing a lot of research while I await his arrival. I will be changing his environment a little, he doesn't appear to have the best lighting or diet right now. I am...
