    Beardie Not Growing

My guy didnt start his first growth spurt until he was about 14 weeks old. Until then his weight was similar to yours and I was askimg myself the same questions! If your heat and light are good then I'd say let him do his thing and he will grow I promise.

    Mealworms

And the Chilean harvesters for the worms haven't actually done the proper conversions for fat and calcium content per unit or measurement.. ml/100 grms doesn't exist I don't believe. ;)

What is growing on my dubia?

Are you talking about the ruffled looking wing buds? Sometimes they have a bad molt. I have one nymph that it's shell literally looks all shriveled up but it's been running around and eating normal so I'm gonna see what its next molt looks like.

Wanted a pet beardie, got a pet dragon and pet bugs.

So far we have an established colony of Dubia, an up and coming one (feeders that grew up cause the geckos didn't eat them fast enough lol), a bin I separated a bunch of extra males and various sizes into. I can sit and watch them for hours! We also have red runners, lobsters and my favorite -6...

    Roach-keeping for the squeamish.

Don't worry, It'll be months before they are big enough to breed. If you keep them room temp they grow very slow. You'd be safe enough to get a couple hundred to avoid constant trips to the store.

    New baby- stressed but shedding

Thank you for the advice! It helps to know we're not alone Currently he is in a 34" x16" Sterilite bin that has opaque sides so I don't think he can see his reflection. Before he arrived I stuck my head in and looked and I couldn't see mine LOL. I ended up soaking him and rubbing a qtip over...

    New baby- stressed but shedding

We just got our new (and very first) baby from a breeder yesterday. He is much tinier than I anticipated even though he is 7" long and proper size for his age. I know he is super stressed and terrified but is also shedding. I have everything setup in his cage (I've been reading this forum for...

Is anyone else here fed up with fake sales?

Dubiaroaches.com is a good company too. And they have good prices. I've been getting the emails too and I just delete them. :?

    Coconut oil

Thank you for the study- I love reading stuff like that! From all the info I've read about coconut oil it's a good fat that actually is good for cholesterol levels and hasn't been found to have any contributing effects to fatty liver disease or metabolic issues. I've only found this in relation...

    Coconut oil

I've seen its been discussed before but no one has brought up the fact it contains high levels of lauric acid, a medium chain fatty acid that has antimicrobial, antiprotazoal and antifungal properties. It converts to monolaurin In the body and disrupts the lipid membrane in viruses and harmful...

QUESTION: Are any of the packaged foods good staples?

The Nature Zone ones have artificial colors in them, which I find kind of horrifying for tiny kidneys. :(

    Enough food for a baby?

Thanks for the replies! I guess I assumed they would eat like 50 roaches a day but if they go in spurts then it'll probably be ok. They are well started on greens and veggies too so hopefully I won't have to fight him on it. :) I wish so bad we could get a baby sooner but we have a lot of saving...

    Enough food for a baby?

I have a dubia colony that has been going for about 9 mos and has over 100 females and probably 25-30 males. I clean out babies every 2-3 mos because the crowding seems to stress them badly and production goes way down. The ones I clean out are newborns to half an inch or so, with maybe only a...

any other important info about bearded dragons?

I started my colony from males and females I bought at Head to Tails. They have all different sizes. Takes awhile to get them going. My colony is almost a year old and I have recently been able to feed them as a staple to my two geckos and sell a couple hundred medium nymphs.

    New here, no beardie yet!

My name is Heather and as the title states I don't have a dragon yet but am doing my research before ever attempting it! Everyone here seems super nice so I'm looking forward to reading and learning a lot. A little of why I'm here: My husband and I got into reptiles not even a year ago with...
