The bulb and the tube came in yesterday. Installed them, waited a little while and the temps on the cool side shot up to 91.6*. So I decided to rearange the tank and drop everything down. I did away with the basking(plastic) tree he stayed on and his hammock(for now).Went out and purchased some...

I Think I May Need To Rehome My Dragons :(

You could even prepare their salad in the evening or chop up enough to last a few days. That way you just have to empty their bowls, clean it,just dump some in and wet it. You wouldnt have to spend the extra time chopping it up in the morning. Try doing these things that everyone suggests before...

Crewdog,What Kind of UVB tubes are you going to install? T5 or T8? T8-Then yes 6"-8" away from your Beardie. T5 5.0 HO sry I need to read up some more on this tube ATM. Maybe someone else could chime in. T5 10.0 HO would need to be no closer than 12" away from your beardie. This type of...

    Lighting/Heating Big Enclosures

The UTH was something that popped into my head as I was reading the replies. Also I wasnt thinking of less lights just something to help out with the heat when I do open the tank up to Sarge. Good news though the lights that I ordered should be here tomorrow according to the shipping tracker...

    Lighting/Heating Big Enclosures

How about some thoughts on an under the tank heater. I have a wooden stand not a metal one and the top of the stand is plywood. Would that be to much heat for both my beardie and the plywood. Actually would it be safe that close to the wood? I would think so and I could drill a hole for the cord...

    Lighting/Heating Big Enclosures

The humidity is very high and the temps are just above 90* here. I really hate it. Im thinking about lining the back of the tank with that foam insulation. By the time winter gets here Sarge should be big enough to open up the whole tank to him. I already see two ceramic heat bulbs in my future...

ZooMed customer service emailed me and said that the Naturesun is not currently made in the T5 version. They recommended the UltraSun. Wow Jarich that is a lot of good info Thank You. I will take your advice and purchace the ExoTerra Sun Glo for now and get that SunRay down the road. The two...

    Lighting/Heating Big Enclosures

These are the lights that I used when it was set up for fish. They are really good and expensive light fixtures so I figured I could use them for this setup. I am only using one of them atm with one Reptisun lamp. I will though be using both in the future with adaquite shade. Also I have been...

    Lighting/Heating Big Enclosures

Hey Taterbug Thx for the responce. The tank is not covered at all and it is positioned next to a non windowed wall. I am going to run out in a few and get a Par38 75w to see where that puts me. My only question would be that if I switch out to that Flood lamp, will I still be getting the right...

    Lighting/Heating Big Enclosures

Thank You Moderator for moving this thread to Enclosures. :D It kept me from starting a whole new one. Thank You Wolfeden for your suggestions. I am going to try first getting a Par38 flood lamp and try that then going to get a 25w household bulb and stick that over the cool side. I could use...

    Questions about Reptisun 10.0 T5 HO 22"

You did not state if your old tube was T5 or T8.If it was a T8, the ballast and the light clips ie:tombstones will have to be changed out to acomadate the new stlye. It would probably better to change out to a new fixture. If your light already holds T5 lamps then you would still need to look at...

    Lighting/Heating Big Enclosures

That is a pretty good observation Wolf, never gave that a thought. I went through three different wattages of lamps to get that BS right around 105*.I finally went with the 50watt ZooMed Basking spot lamp combined with the Exo Terra lamp stand that sticks to the back of the tank to get it just...

    Lighting/Heating Big Enclosures

Yes,the basking bulb is a ZooMed Basking spot lamp. FYI,my UVB is a T5 (10.0 sry forgot to mention that I will edit) HIGH OUTPUT Reptisun tube. Manufacturers recommendations and a couple of peeps on this site state that your pet should be no closer than 12" and no farther than 24" for maximum...
