    New owner, A few questions

Mine is 4 months old and only interested in crickets right now. I haven't tried any other live feeders. They are most active the warmer they are, thus the quicker your tank reaches 95-100 degrees the quicker they will be blasting around with energy.

How Many Crickets Does Your Beardie Eat?

I'm interested to know this as well. Thanks for sharing!

    Bearded has MBD

I'm sorry to hear about your baby's condition. The most important thing for your baby is proper UVB and proper heat. Proper heat is the easiest. I saved a lot of money by buying a very high wattage bulb and plugging it into a "table top dimmer switch" so I can control the brightness of the...

    Odd Question...

Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Organic Soap The soap contains many rejuvenating oils, such as coconut oil and jojoba oil. http://www.amazon.com/Dr-Bronners-Magic-Soaps-Pure-Castile/dp/B00120VWJ0 8 to 16 oz should be plenty. Peppermint is my favorite. Hope this helps.

    Worried... Not eating, etc.

Yes this will be a good solution for now, just be cautious with how close she can get to this new bulb. The dome UVB bulbs put out tremendous amounts of UVB. The bulb I have tried in the past says minimum distance is 12 inches. This is important because too much UVB is bad. You want just enough...

    Cranky teenager?

Okay just curious. Be sure your bulb is not "energy saving" as even halogen bulbs these days can be advertised as "uses 20 watts but gives 40 watts" or something like that. From my understanding, these are bad choices due to the way they create light versus standard non-energy saving bulbs. It...

    Worried... Not eating, etc.

I'm very happy to help! She will be back to her hungry happy dragon self in no time :D Yes the light fixture I use is 24 inches, cost $9 from the hardware lighting section. There are three good hanging choices: 1. 3M sticky strips 2. 3M sticky hanging hooks 3. Industrial velcro I'm using 3M...

    New owner, A few questions

Yes here's the routine: Crickets live in a clear plastic bin with small egg crates on the bottom. They like to hide in the bottom of it. I pick up an egg crate and smack it onto the open jar, knocking and shaking them into the jar. I add Rep-Cal Calcium with D3 powder and Herptivite...

    New owner, A few questions

    1. Crickets or dubia roaches are highly recommended. I use egg crates in my cricket bin and I shake the egg crate so crickets fall into my jar. 2. Babies will become interested in veggies eventually. Collard or turnip or mustard greens are recommended daily. My baby loves butternut squash and...

    Worried... Not eating, etc.

The baby needs proper UVB to create vitamin D3 in the body, this D3 is what they use to absorb calcium. Without UVB, no D3. Without D3, no calcium. Without calcium, no growth or appetite. Heat is for digesting the food, so with proper UVB, proper D3 and proper calcium the baby should be...

Safe to use one container for bathing/pooping and feeding?

I can see how this would be important, keeping them warm. I'll keep this in mind when making changes to his daily schedule. I'm hoping others may reply with their opinion and even share their daily schedule. Thanks again!

Is my Reptisun 10.0 too close?

Leaving the fixture as it is sounds good for a month unless someone disagrees with how close he can get to it (4 inches from head). Please speak up if you disagree! Ah yes... why didn't I think of that? I'll tape up some paper towels this evening and see if it helps. I also pondered about...

Safe to use one container for bathing/pooping and feeding?

Yes I'm considering buying another container at this time and I may end up doing it even without a clear answer. You have a good point about needing time to digest, but in my defense wouldn't the entire day be plenty of time to bask after his short 10 min bath? I could very easily swap the time...

Safe to use one container for bathing/pooping and feeding?

    My little Pickle

I saved my self a lot of money by buying a higher watt bulb and putting it on a dimmer. Currently using a 150w halogen bulb but it stays dimmed very low. I keep my temps 95-100, never over 105.

    night time/winter heat

Ceramic Heat Emitters work very well and produce no light. 100w or 150w, might need a dimmer. I got mine from Amazon. Hope it helps!
