    Too young to brumate?

I know that there are piles of brumation threads...but everywhere is says that it is rare for them to brumate under a year. Tia is about 7-8 months (she was 2-3 months when I got her at the beginning of August). All the temps etc are good and nothing has changed recently. However, in the past...

    Not shedding?

Thanks! My concern is that her feet and head shedded out over her month ago...her body/tail haven't shed out for almost 3 months, is that normal for a juvenile?

    How Old Is Cocoa?

Unfortunately, you can't tell exact age by size. Like people, bearded dragons can be a range of lengths. 2-3 months is certainly quite reasonable, but she could be somewhat older or younger. When I got Tia, she was about 2.5 months and was 10.5 inches; she's always been on the large (but not...

    Not shedding?

Hello. I have the opposite question from most...should I be worried that Tia isn't shedding? I got her in August when she was 2-3 months old. She had just finished a shed when I got her. She then went through a full shed in September. At the end of Nov she shed out all four feet and around her...

Well, its been forever since I posted. Tia is still doing amazing! I bring her in to school about once a week and the kids love her. In fact, we've had other classes come visit and my students taught them about her. She's a pretty imperturbable little girl and has figured out that the kids will...

Well its been awhile...I've been crazed with work! Tia is still doing great! At approaching 5 months, she's about 13.5 inches and is loving life. I brought her into school and the kids loved her! Anyway, here she is, having a nice bask and chilling out.

    No bowel movements!

Okay, I've seen lots of posts on this subject, but I really need advice! My little girl hasn't had a bowel movement since at least Thursday. At first I wasn't worried because I just redid her viv and I thought it was just a little of stress. Besides that she's acting totally normal; scooting...

    Baby beardie's beards

Tia did beard up when I first got her (the first time the cat jumped up next to the viv) when she was about 2.5 months...it puffed up and got somewhat black, although not solidly black as I've seen from many others in pics. I don't know if that was due to age or due to gender. She hasn't really...

Your personal experiences- Food/Feeding and Enclosures

I'm still relatively new (I've had Tia for about 2 months), but she seems to be doing well with dandelion greens and turnip greens as a staple, with others mixed in (bits of bell pepper, carrot, a little bit of apple, a blueberry, etc) occasionally. I bought a big bunch from Wegman's; if you...

Thanks. I'm hoping that it will be over soon! As funny as it is to look at, I want an un-itchy dragon! I also want to bring her into school...my kiddos are excited to meet her!

Well...the full body shedding is starting (at least, her head is starting and the torso is looking ready!). Poor little girl is so itchy...she's actually going around dragging her head against the tile!

How to tell if they're upset?

Okay, this might be a silly question...but is there anything to look for besides bearding or struggling or hiding if anything I'm doing is stressing her out? Any really subtle signs I might not have noticed? I'm asking because there have been multiple things going on that are "supposed" to...

    Introducing...Tiamat

Well, we went on our first outing today! I don't know why I was nervous...she's a champ! While she's not a fan of me pushing her legs around to put on the harness, she doesn't seem to care once its on. As long as I was touching her, she didn't mind the car, walked around Petco for abit and got...

*sigh* We're still shedding in sections...and little miss is getting crankier (she's hiding a lot more and doesn't want to cuddle, although she's not bearding at me or anything). Her tail and beard/cheeks have now shed, her legs are in the process of shedding, and her head is turning white. No...

    scratchy scales??

I have the same, but only when I have her on my chest where the skin is more sensitive/less exposed than on my arms. It just looks a bit irritated. I was wondering the same question!

    How long does shedding take???

Well the shedding has finally started! Her tail and little bits off of her face (which I didn't even realize was getting ready to shed!) are coming off and her hind legs are turning grey. Little girl is not very happy about it! She's giving me the death glare! Poor itchy cranky dragon!

Well, little miss is now getting cranky... Thanks, I love her color too! Question...now that part of her tail has shed, it seems to be a lighter/less distinct color than the rest of her. Is that usual and does that mean she's probably going to lose some color as she sheds? Just curious!
