Building a big stackable 7x2x2 enclosure

No problem. You could also try loctite PowerGrab. People have had luck with that too. What thickness styrofoam are you using? Because I'm trying to picture how well a toothpick will hold up. But your right though because I found trying to hold then together with some sort of "prong" didnt really...

Building a big stackable 7x2x2 enclosure

He used leftover wood glue and wooden skewers to hold them in place while the glue dried. I did the same thing till I ran out of wood glue. Then I use liquid nails. I also used extra metal coat hangers instead of wooden skewers.

Boom. I've said it in a few of my posts too. HAHA, the punch game. entertaining for about 90 seconds, then I find my own fist twitching, moving ever closer to the screen..... I just have a punching bag. But yes, I had the same issue of tank to small, guy I got him from kept him in a...

Newbie with a million questions, this one is re: enclosure

You know, I have heard that too. I think the reasoning behind keeping the sites hotter for juveniles is to help with their metabolism especially since they are eating a lot more frequently. However according to the book, its the same throughout. In Chapter 1 there is a section that talks about...

    What a terrible experience!! UGH!!

Wow. That's crazy. I'm glad you got your money back. I'm up in Greeley. I would suggest you try and build it yourself, if you have time. Just start pricing the materials you want to use and how you want it designed though you might have that done already. Keep in mind to check online too. I paid...

Newbie with a million questions, this one is re: enclosure

I may get hounded for saying this but I think your temps are fine. The cool side seems a little warm to me by only a few degrees. I will explain below with pictures :D This is the book I use: Here are the authors. Experts from all over who have a plethora of experience regarding reptiles...

    Building 5x2x2 enclosure, first build!

Thanks man, appreciate it. Yeah in the month I've had the "beardie bug" I've known of three people being told 20L were 40gal. The common theme is they are all starter kits bought at petsmart or petco. I wont buy anything from them anymore. Overpriced and unintelligent (as far as reptiles...

    Building 5x2x2 enclosure, first build!

Why thank ya! Its funny because both of those weren't apart of the original plan. But still worked out anyway. I don't think its as good as yours, but its better than others I have seen.

    Building 5x2x2 enclosure, first build!

I am almost done with my first ever built enclosure. I would like to start off by giving a shout out to dragonov because after doing hours and hours of research I ended up stealing a lot of his ideas, mainly the basic box design, with a few tweaks of my own of course. :D I started by making...

    Substrate help, custom enclosure

I just recently built my own enclosure out of plywood. I made my own fake rock that covers a lot of the enclosure with basking spots and pillars and staircases and such. The one thing I am having a hard time with is what substrate to use. Some kind of sand would be so much easier to just pour in...

    Converting Dresser to double viv

Wow I didn't know that. I thought they knew if they were hot and that's why the go to the cool side. Because people have lights on the cool side in some vivs and they still seem to know its the cool side.... That's interesting I didn't know that I will have to look into that. And no problem...

    Converting Dresser to double viv

I suppose that would help. Its definitely something to experiment with. If anything it might help save on your power bill. LOL If the top cage gets hot enough because of the bulbs underneath, I guess you could get a lower wattage bulb for the top cage, that might help reduce the heat if it gets...

Planning on building an enclosure, need help.

I know right? I was on the phone with trugreen describing my yard and he ran right in front of me. Had no idea. Like I said I thought it was a bearded dragon that got loose so I was going to keep it and did about 8 hours of research before a reptile store I sent pictures to told me it was a...

    Converting Dresser to double viv

The linoleum with silicone should work just fine. Also do a lot of research for different ideas and things that would also work or designs you might like. I personally did probably a good 30 hours of research before feeling comfortable enough to begin. Plus I had to save some money. As far as...

    Converting Dresser to double viv

I thought about doing this as well. I would imagine you could do it if you wanted. I would just keep in mind a couple of things. 1. Most dressers and furniture, for that cheap, are made out of particle board. That stuff will expand and break apart when wet very easily. So for cleaning or...

Planning on building an enclosure, need help.

HAHAHA I now exactly what your talking about except it was "what are you doing?" I replied "home depot". She said "AGAIN?!?" I probably made 6 or 7 trips total. Ive spent a week and a half on mine so far, most of it being exactly that, watching it dry. Ive only had my dragons for a few weeks...

Planning on building an enclosure, need help.

I just built my own enclosure, in fact the third layer of grout is drying right now. I could sit here and try to remember everything I bought for this project but I would probably forget a few things lol. One piece of advice I can give you is this. Make sure that in your budget set aside some...
