Ohmygod. Is he actually a.... she?!?

Okay I'm SO happy that I'm not a total ***** then after all these years hahahaha! Thank you guys, I have no idea how I only just noticed the funky bump that led me to believe he was a lady lmao. Also I had him just slightly flipped at an angle so he was kinda sitting in my hand like a chair...

Ohmygod. Is he actually a.... she?!?

There's two more pics, I tried doing the technique you recommended. I am still soooo confused, the side bumps that should indicate a male are ... Almost non-existent. I definitely see and feel them though but that bottom bump is very prominent too

Ohmygod. Is he actually a.... she?!?

Oh my god. I'm having a bit of a moment right now guys LOL. So, Milo is almost 8 years old. We got him around 3 months old where he was "supposedly" male, and I never questioned it, plus my vets never mentioned anything otherwise about his gender.... Well, the past couple weeks, he's been...

Beardie with vibrating head/legs, possible adenovirus

Another update on Mr. Milo! He seems completely back to normal, is happier than ever, and has gained back some weight already. He weight about 450 grams at the vet and now weighs 462 grams, and is back to his normal eating habits! Taking him off the antibiotics was the best thing for him since...

Beardie with vibrating head/legs, possible adenovirus

Oh wow, I've actually always had them on for 12 hours most of his life... Listened to the first vet and stuck with that. Well I will most definitely be bumping it up even more then, I think he's going to take some time to adjust to that but I never knew 16 hours of light was okay for them. Makes...

Beardie with vibrating head/legs, possible adenovirus

Hey all! Apologies for the delay; I'm really happy to say that I think Milo is slowly getting better by the day. I took him off the antibiotics 2 days back because I just didn't feel like he was reacting well at all. The vet said we can try another antibiotic if needed, otherwise to take him...

Beardie with vibrating head/legs, possible adenovirus

If he continues losing weight, I'll look into picking that up. He isn't eating these past 2 days and clearly doesn't feel well... I believe it's the antibiotics making him feel sick. Not sure if this is causing him more harm than good, so I'm making a judgement call to stop giving them to him...

Beardie with vibrating head/legs, possible adenovirus

That is what confused me too, was he would shiver... or what seemed like a shiver. But I know only mammals do that and have never heard of cold blooded animals doing such thing, but at least point I have no idea. He does tremor too when he moves around his cage, but if he's still and basking, I...

Beardie with vibrating head/legs, possible adenovirus

Hmm, just a little update as to something I've noticed with the tremors. He does not tremor in his sleep... like, at all. For the past two nights I've had him out at night to observe him, and he sleeps straight through the night with no tremors. The other night... he did head bob in his sleep...

Beardie with vibrating head/legs, possible adenovirus

Here is the video, you can just barely see the vibrating in the first few seconds where it's most intense. https://youtu.be/eaBYgZ6bis4

Beardie with vibrating head/legs, possible adenovirus

So, as far as toxicity, on Monday he got a brand new enclosure that I made for him using the whole foam + grout + sealant technique. The sealant I used was Mod Podge, which I read was popular among beardie owners since it holds up to heat well. It sat for 24 hours to dry and cure (had no smell...

Beardie with vibrating head/legs, possible adenovirus

She did not test for it just yet, that would be done at the follow-up appointment if he isn't improving. She did tell me though that there is nothing more she could do besides confirm whether it is ADV or not. I still cannot understand how it just... appeared the way it did. ): Yes, so his UVB...

Beardie with vibrating head/legs, possible adenovirus

I'm writing this, completely heart broken right now. My 7 year old angel, Milo, suddenly developed this extremely odd, vibrating head that would usually flare up when he moved around. This started Monday evening. I took him into the vet yesterday where she noticed his stool sample was extremely...

    Beardie smoothie for picky eater

Hello again everyone. I'm back with my incredibly picky eater with (hopefully) a solution to this problem. After taking Milo to the vet months back and finding out he possibly had the onset of liver disease, I immediately changed his diet and overall care. He gets worms (silkworms, hornworms...

"No animal will starve itself".... but mine will!

Yeah Milo sometimes refuses food as well, even worms, when someone else is caring for him. I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence or if he really is that hard headed. Totally agree though, they're more manipulative than I ever would've given them credit for. And he was captive born and raised...

"No animal will starve itself".... but mine will!

So you know how many of us tend to deal with very stubborn beardies when it comes to feeding them? Specifically vegetables? Time and time again, I've been told "eventually he'll cave in, no animal will starve themselves when there's food around".... Except, my bearded dragon ACTUALLY did. -_-...

Vet wants me to prevent brumation?

Milo is officially down for the count. I'm leaving his lights off and will just let him be from now on. He refused to eat anymore worms so I don't think I could have convinced him out of this even if I wanted to haha. Not even his favorite worms would convince him not to sleep. I do...
