As i have no idea on the fir aspect of your question, i do know its perfectly safe to stain your viv. Just make sure you get very low or no VOC stain and sealer.

Another interesting idea i was playing with. Beardies are attracted to movement, a still standing water bowl is just boring to them. If you can place a water bowl inside without it killing your humidity levels, add a fish tank air hose in the bowl. It will make bubbles and keep the water moving...

So havent really posted anything with odin recently, work has been swamping me. But finally got him into his new viv, and on a new diet to boot. Hanging out in his new hammock. Look at mah gut! Had been outside, spoiled little thing, knows hes going back into his viv.

Finally got the glass today, and now everything is in and good minus the little bit of decorating i have to do. Checking out the outside world through his new view. He has so much more room now.

And lo and behold the glass i have been fighting to get cut was supposed to be sat outside his shop since i was out of town today... got there, no glass. Now its pushed back till monday till i can get him in and settled.

So im down to the nitty gritty on odins viv. I currently have 2 4x16 vents on both sides of his viv and am wondering if i am going to need to add more or if these will be adequate. Heres the vents, only have pics of one side installed, but there is now the exact same vent on the opposing side.
