    Craigslist Rescue

I live in Indiana. I have 4 beardies already, but when I found out how her husbandry had been I couldn't leave her there. :) And I'm glad she was able to pass all of that out, too. I've never seen one strain to poop before. :banghead: I just don't understand some people. I'm going to weigh...

    Craigslist Rescue

I saw a beardie for sale for $25, including the tank. I contacted the person and found out the tank was a 10 gallon and she had only had a heat bulb her entire life, which had burnt out "a while ago". She's 1 1/2 years old. I also found out she was on sand, and when I picked her up I found out...

Accidentally double posted, and don't see where to delete :/

Beardie gaping, seems to have issues breathing.

Thank you. I will definitely try that tomorrow if she seems to have issues with swallowing again. I am wondering if maybe she was just a little confused by the whole live bug thing, since the likelihood of her ever having one is very small... Should I continue to give her the pellets (it...

Beardie gaping, seems to have issues breathing.

I took in a beardie today from a lady off Craigslist. I have other beardies, but this one seems to be having issues that I've not come across yet with my own (probably due to her husbandry). She was housed in a 10 gallon tank with sand, fed pellets IN THE SAND, her water dish was full of algae...

    toltrazuril?

Thank you! I didn't know they went reptiza/beardeddragon.co, so I was having problems finding the link. He weighs 267.7 grams, I know I will need the 5% but I'm not sure about the dosage (I'm awful with math).

    toltrazuril?

Hi, my beardie was on Albon when he first had cocc. issues. I've had a count done on him, and he is in need of treatment (it's been all summer since he's had issues), but I don't want to use Albon again. The exotic vet we have here will only give me Albon, someone ref'd me to a link that sold...

    This poor beardie.

ugh. I don't see how having a baby makes you have to rehome your dragon. We have a 3 year old, a 2 year old, and a 6 month old. They don't handle him, they just watch him through his viv. We always wash our hands. Also, how could a beardie in a viv being aggressive pose ANY risk to a child...

    This poor beardie.

http://mattoon.craigslist.org/pet/2972974769.html There are several beardies around here that people are rehoming, but this one is the worst. I messaged the poster and she is under a heat light. The person didn't even know what a UVB was, but does give him calcium with d3 (I think, at least). I...

    Parasites

I'm not sure. We used a bleach/water mix and since he was on tile we rebaked them. While we were treating we used paper towels and replaced 2x daily. It depends on what type of parasite he has. Some can be removed with one treatment, and others can be removed with another. Hopefully someone who...

    Parasites

Has there been any undigested worm parts in the poop? I know mealworms can cause impaction pretty easily. We fed them to Maynard at first when he was tiny and he'd always have problems passing them. That might also be why she isn't growing as quickly as other beardies. Hopefully someone nearby...

    Parasites

Are there any fish or reptile shops near you? A lot of them have microscopes and check their own fecals, at least around where I live. I take Maynard's to the specialty shop where I bought him. Sometimes they may also have the meds on site. Sorry I'm not any help with your other questions...

    Is this color normal?

Thank you! That is what I thought. He is awfully big now to shed all at once, but it's his first time doing parts. He had the cocc. and I felt awful because if I'd checked here when I first suspected it, I would have known not to use Albon and all that great stuff, so I figured I'd make sure...

    Could it be brumation?

If there is a small pet shop or a shop that sells mostly fish or reptiles, they might be able to check the fecals for you. It's worth a call, and it's usually a lot cheaper than the vet. All they do is look at it with a microscope, and they know what to look for (you might check the condition of...

    Is this color normal?

Maynard has been looking a little pale in his head area lately. He's grown a lot, and I'm wondering/thinking he's just reached that threshold where they shed areas, and not whole bodies at one time but I'm not 100% sure so I wanted to check with you guys. Here is his set-up: Tank size-40gal...

    cricket breeding

Thank you! I will get some sand if the soil thing doesn't work out. We have a bassinet sheet stretched across the top to allow ventilation, and it clips to the hook of the tote with a command hook to keep it in place.

    Male dubia with chewed wings

When we first got our Dubias I thought a lot of them were dying too. I'm not sure how I could tell the difference, but you could just tell that it was a shell and not an actual bug. Plus I saw a white one the same day as the "dead" one. :)

    cricket breeding

I asked questions about this too, but everyone told me to just use dubias and not to do it :( I'm still going to do it, but I'm scouring google a ton. I don't have any experience, but from what I read it takes 7-10 days for them to hatch and sometimes you can't see them at first because they...

    Crickets

Thanks for the...help. I said I did my research. This means I'm already aware of die offs, stench, hassle, etc. I need them to feed to other pets, so I have to keep buying them anyway and I'm tired of buying them, just like I was tired of buying roaches.
