    Bearded dragon and his vegies

Hey guys, I have a bearded dragon, he is about 11 months to a year old. Since we have had him he has never really eaten any veges that we put in his cage. When I see other peoples dragons, as soon as they put the food in their cage their dragon will rush over and start munching. He will...

    HELP!

If someone could correct me if I'm wrong. But I would just say it is stress due to the move. My wee fella did exactly the same and he came right in about a week. Just give it time dude. Keep offering fresh food each day and he will go out and have a munch!

    Meet Jango!

This is our 8 month old Beardie Jango. He's 15 inches long with a growing belly. Not quite sure if he's an Eastern Beardie (Pogona barbata) or an Inland that hasn't got his colours yet. Any opinions welcome! Hes a lovely little active boy, he gets up to major mischief when he spots curtains...

1 yr old beardie new some help

Hey dude, When we got our Beardie about 2 months ago we had that similar problem. When we asked someone they said it was stress from moving on to a new home. We were told to stick with it for a couple of weeks and he was fine! I'm not sure if that could be the same for you or not? Or if...

    Tail Curling up

Yea he's fine. At the time I let a few wax worms in there to see what he would do and he hunted them all. I think he just wanted more then!

    New Zealand

On second thought, I think he may look more like this one. http://www.flickr.com/photos/arthur_chapman/3037465678/in/photostream/ This is a Pogona Barbata ( Eastern Bearded Dragon) I'm not 100% sure as these guys aren't a very common pet in New Zealand

Wow! They look amazing! I hope my Jango will get as big as them! I don't think he will get that colour though!

    New Zealand

From what we were told he is a Pogona Vetticeps. Or Inland Bearded Dragon. We reckon he looks really cool as well. When he turns black you can see the scale patterns a lot more. We are hoping that he goes a bit yellow but I really like him how he is. I just want him to bulk up quite a bit...

    Tail Curling up

I have been noticing that my Beardie, Jango. His tail seems to always be curled upwards. I have read somewhere that it just means that they are alert? Is this true? I'm not worried about it unless people say otherwise. He did just hunt down quite a few wax worms in his viv 30 mins ago, and ate...

    Conjunctivitis

Just an update on the soaking trick. We soaked Jango last night in the container for about an hour or so. We put him back in his viv and a few minutes later things seemed to be moving again. We recommend this trick, as long as you do have a heat light on and some where for them to perch on as...

    Great new Bearded Dragon advice

Heya, Just wanted to say after some feedback that this post in no way is denying how great the help on this blog is! It has been fantastic for my partner and I to have somewhere to get advice and learn little bits about these amazing little critters. But I do definitely recommend new owners to...

    Conjunctivitis

Yes, with the Repti-Sun it was going to cost us about $300US to bring in just two bulbs. We went to our local zoo to talk to one of the reptile keepers and one of our main questions was about lighting. The zoo uses the Repti Glo so that is what we decided to buy. We have spoken to several...

    Great new Bearded Dragon advice

My partner and I recently bought a 6 month old bearded dragon from a pet store. Although we did as much research as possible before buying Jango, we still found ourselves with bundles of questions in the first few weeks. Our pet shop where we bought him did their best to answer our questions...

    Conjunctivitis

Hi, Thanks Tracie! The problem is we can't get the ReptiSun anywhere. There seem to be no suppliers in New Zealand. His eye is looking a lot better but it is still inflamed. Another thing I have noticed with him is that he has had quite a temper over the last couple of days and he is really...

    Conjunctivitis

Cool, thanks for clearing that up! If I were to buy 2 bulbs that had 5% UV, would that be the same as 1 10% UV bulb? Or would it make no difference at all?

    Conjunctivitis

Yea we have come to that conclusion as well. It is a Lucky Reptile coil UVB. Now I have ordered the Exo-Terra Repti Glo. I know a lot of people out there say that it's really bad. But what exactly is bad about it? I have spoken to several breeders in New Zealand and the majority of them told me...
