Why is Fred scratching and digging at the tile on his floor? I have a tupperware bowl in hit viv as well with calcium powder in it. I feed him in this bowl because the dubias tend to cover themselves in the calcium. Anyway, he is NOW inside of this bowl digging around in the calcium. Whats up...

She is eating less because one medium dubia is like the equivalent of 3-4 crickets. They are meatier and more nutritious as well. Fred would eat crix until he was about to bust...at least 30 at a time. He only eats about 10-12 dubia though. He gets full and leaves them alone.

Are you putting fruit in there for food? If you are, what you are seeing is fruit flies. I had them in my bin til I took the fruit out. Now there is none. I will still put fruit in mine, but only for a day or so then I take it out.

You will have to wait til daylight so i can take some. I still can't believe they actually had babies. Its been well over a month!

I looked in my bin of breeders today and lo and behold there were BABIES! Probably 20-30 of them running around in there. I was ecstatic! Was going to pass out cigars, but didn't know the sex of them. I didn't think they were ever going to breed! :blob5: :blob8: :blob5: :blob8:

Fred has been glass dancing like crazy! He wakes up, eats, then proceeds to tango with the glass for the rest of the day until he finally tires out about supper time. This just started about a week ago and It is driving me nuts. Anyone know what could be causing this? He isn't dancing with one...

Also, i read somewhere that they breed better with nymphs already in the bin and not JUST adults. Any truth to this? I have about 400 small nymphs and I could put 100 or so in the bin with them if that would help...any thoughts on this?

Temps now 82-85. Going to leave it there for a while to see.

Im feeding cricket chow to my feeders, just to get rid of it, along with navel oranges. The breeders get the high class treatment with roach chow, navel oranges, leftover salad.

Ratio should be 10-1 females to males, from what Ive read.

Fred just demolished 10 nymphs of medium to large size. That boy is a growing fool and these roaches are like crack to him. LOL

How many dubias do you give your beardies per feeding? Fred usually would eat 20-25 crix and be full and happy. I put 10 dubias in his cage and he will eat maybe five and look as happy as he did with 20-25 crix. So, I will take the remainder and put them back in the dubia cage. How many will...

Just ordered 10 male and 10 female adults to add to the 200 or so nymphs I already have. Im gonna feed a few of the nymphs as I go. Fred can only eat about 5 and he's done. He can usually eat 20-25 crickets at a time. Is this normal to only have this many dubias?
