9 Month Old Beardie Won't Eat-Update, back from the vet!

Had an issue with the chinese water dragon. She got away from us while we were holding her and my kitten found her before we did and bit her tail. Had to have the tail amputated. But she is still going strong and it's almost as if she does not know that she only has half a tail!

14 week old beardie acting angry

Brandon, I think you were right about spraying her-- I assumed it was ok because my rather calm beardie didn't give a %$^, but apparently, Daniel prefers his water from a medicine dropper. Fine by me. :)

9 Month Old Beardie Won't Eat-Update, back from the vet!

Thank you-- she's my first beardie so it's all relatively new to me, but she is doing so well thanks also, to people like yourself and all of the experts here who are so kind and informative.

14 week old beardie acting angry

Ok she is doing a little better. I rubbed my face with a dry rag and put her to sleep in it. She fell asleep immediately in my hand and slept that way all night. Now, she sleeps in it until I turn her lights on in the a.m. and seems nicer to me about half of the time. She's getting there. Or...

9 Month Old Beardie Won't Eat-Update, back from the vet!

Very cool, Sue. TY! She is eating quite a bit better, suddenly, and basking more too, without me having to force her to do so! She still struggles and claws at me when I give her the liquid calcium though. Poor thing is having ptsd or something about me giving her this med because whenever I...

    Is A Water Dish Necessary?

I do use one in my young adult beardie's viv, but not in the baby's viv, as she is hand fed the water via a bottle or dropper. With Illidan, I also hand supplied her water, but when I wanted her to learn to drink I began to put the water bowl into her viv at around 4 months of age. Then I began...

9 Month Old Beardie Won't Eat-Update, back from the vet!

No I've never tried reptiworms. Where do I get them? She won't eat anything dead, so I hope they're alive. I am dusting her greens and crickets with calcium and vitamin supplements, and she also takes liquid calcium supplied by the vet once daily. Unfortunately she has managed to break another...

14 week old beardie acting angry

Ok, I can stop the spraying. I don't do it until she/he is calmed down and in my hands though. He seems to like it! I had him all calm again today and as soon as I put him back in his cage I tried to touch him again and he bit me. I've been bitten HARD 6 times today. I do hold her, but only a...

    Handling Issues

How are the temps on the hot and cold side of the cage? How is his appetite? I'm having the same experience with a baby beardie who is much younger than yours and I don't know what to do either. Try putting a warm, dry wash cloth with your scent on it, on his sleeping side of the cage at night...

    how sound do they sleep?

You can make a special place for her if you want. When my adult was a baby, I let her sleep with a tiny wash cloth. It became her "spot". I'd rub it on my chest first for her to get used to my scent. This also helped her get used to me handling her as she grew older.

    handling new young one

At this age, they're gonna jump, no matter what. The best way I've found to get them to calm it down is to wrap them in a blankie their size, or a clean, dry wash cloth, and hold them close to your body.

14 week old beardie acting angry

Ok. I'm not new to dragon care, as I have a young adult beardie, one baby beardie and one adult chinese water dragon. But this new baby is driving us crazy! The bulbs are right, the feeding is good, I even hand feed her the water via spraying. However, for whatever reason she is one VERY pissed...

9 Month Old Beardie Won't Eat-Update, back from the vet!

Update: she was at the vet's office today for quite awhile. No parasites. She has a tiny fracture in the left front leg, and the vet thinks it's a sign of calcium deficiency, since Illidan stopped eating dusted crickets 3 months ago: she refused them totally. She is on a liquid calcium...

9 Month Old Beardie Won't Eat-Update, back from the vet!

Cat, she won't TOUCH superworms. Every time I've tried, she turns her head away and GLARES at me like HOW DARE YOU! LOL! She doesn't drink water from a syringe anymore, however, only from the bath (yeah I know) or from her bowl in her cage. I trained her to drink it that way and now I regret it.
