    Unsupportive family

My boyfriend does not like reptiles in general. When he comes over I'm always like "Look at Citrine! She is getting so big! Watch me feed her a roach"... and he says "how do you like those things". Frustrating yes, but at least my mom shares my passion for beardies with me. I guess we must deal...

    Eggs: How delicate are they?

I agree. I bet there are way more captive bred beardies than wild ones. And I am sure that goes for a lot of other popular reptile and amphibian species. I wonder if there has been any genetic changes (speciation) in any captive populations. But that's the curious biologist in me :]

    Eggs: How delicate are they?

A question I have always thought of. I know there arent a bunch of little dragon eggs in incubators scattered throughout the Australian landscape. I know those eggs incubate in slightly fluctuating temperatures, various humidity, and various substrate but we will manage to have them...

    Eggs: How delicate are they?

I looked at Wal*Mart, Lowes, and some other small town places here. I think I will need to go to a plant nursery to get it. What is suspension incubation?

    Eggs: How delicate are they?

I realize that temperature is very important for egg development. I have heard that it should be in between 82 and 84 F. Will they not incubate well in regular soil or is a perlite/vermiculite mix necessary? I have not been able to find this stuff without some sort of additive or MiracleGrow...

    Craziness!!

I think you might be a little more scared that she is! Your baby is well... a baby. Pick her up with confidence and hold her until she stops squirming. She might just have an abundance of energy and she is a baby so her first thought is to run. This is a natural reaction (instinct) that...

    Wanting real sunshine BUT...

Hello fellow Texan! I live near Corpus Christi and boy do I know about humidity. lol. I take mine outside quite often and the humidity has not caused any issues thus far. Humidity inside the house stays low, just make sure you don't keep a large water dish in with them so there is less...

    Egg substrate issue

My favorite girl just layed her eggs. The substrate is currently a mix of sand, soil, and perlite. However, I just noticed that the perlite I got has been enriched with MiracleGrow. I have a bad feeling about it and I think it might be harmful to the developing embryo. Any comments? Any knowledge?

    The Rare Aussie

I am aware that the Bearded Dragon is endemic to Australia, but do yall have all of the morphs and varieties that we have here in the states? Such as leatherbacks, translucents, and the like. I saw a few normal dragons while I was living in Canberra but they were all in zoos.

HELP----BURNED IN BELLY FROM HOT ROCK

I'm sorry to hear about your hurt baby. Make sure you use Neosporin cream and NOT OINTMENT. Ointment holds in heat and does not absorb in as well. Switch to lighting as your source of heat. It is much more easy to regulate and is a more constant and reliable source of heat.

    Beardie is dark a lot

Well it seems like you are taking good care of him. It is definitely a good investment to get the 60 gal. or even a 75 gal if you have the room. Has he shed recently? Sometimes they get darker/pale when they need to shed. Mine always brighten up after they get a nice, warm bath. Could you post...
