What did I do wrong on background

first of all, you want to coat in increasingly thicker layers of grout. The first one should be like olive oil, the second a bit more solid, the third even more so and the fourth and final layer should have about the consistency of toothpaste. Secondly, if you put pressure on it on a small...

new beardie viv from the ground up: picture log!

any arguments to back that up? People are allways scared of sand as if putting your beardie on sand is like instantly killing them. It poses a risk, and so does loam, as it consists out of sand and clay. I can't really see how loam can be bad for bd's. - It packs down really hard, so it's less...

    Leashes...Ideas?????

I used an old narrow leather belt. 1) Cut 2 rectangles out which fit his front legs, so about 1"x1/2" and about 1.5" apart 2) Cut the piece of the belt to the correct length to fit around your beardie, leaving about 1" overlap 3) drill 2 small holes in the overlapping part of the belt (in each...

new beardie viv from the ground up: picture log!

raw tomato in small quantities every now and then is ok. It's just a bit on the high side in oxalates, but nowhere near the amount found in spinach for instance. Just don't overdo them... It's a bit like beer, You really like it, but you should keep quantities down because it's not that good...

    Size Constrained by Space?

I thinks it's length (55") and width (just under 19.5") are the bare minimum for such an active creature. He can run the length of the tank in under 2 seconds... built it myself from the ground up: viewtopic.php?f=75&t=112749

YKYLWBW your not-so-keen-on-reptiles girlfriend comes home from work, completely ignores you and goes "how's our little baby doing" while running for Daku's tank. YKYLWBW that same gf no longer insists on you spending the evening with her as long as she can cuddle your beardie to sleep YKYLWBW...

I disagree. It might be just my luck, but my beardie is in a tank 1.4x0.5x0.6m (55"x20"x29"). I got him at 2 months old, 9.8" long and 43 grams he's now 4 months old, 17.3" and 250+ grams Compared to all other beardies on local forums, he is HUGE, but also has the biggest floor space per...

Kiyo's new VIV build log. With pic's!!

It looks great! But am I correct that you're installing a CHE under the left structure? Because the topside will probably melt! It might even catch fire! CHE's easily reach 200°F+ temps on their surface! Even if you've lined it with wood, it will pass through alot of heat, melting your foam...
