    Sorting Superworms

We have successfully completed one cylce of superworms - from worm, to pupae (aliens), to adult beetles, and now babies!! My question is ... can larger baby worms stay with the really small baby worms? We left our beetles a bit long and have a couple different "batches" of babies. Thanks.

    Super worms

We are trying our hand at breeding superworms and have been watching them and just noticed that some changed to the whitish color stage, My DH is out of town for a week and now i have to figure out what to do with them? Any help would be great, We are not 100% when to start to put them in the...

Need help with Reptiglo bulb, etc.

Coil UVB of any kind is not recommended for beardies. If you are looking for a new hood, you may be able to use a fluorescent fixture from Home Depot or some place similar.

    Retained Shed??

I'll jump in and sort of hijack this thread and ask a question. :) Is it normal to be able to get an adult beardie that wasn't receiving proper care and then have it grow to its "proper" size even as an adult? We just got a 4 yr old that is only 16" and were wondering if he would ever grow...

    The whole "black beard" thing...

How old are these dragons? If I'm not mistake, this could be mating. We have been proud care-givers to an adult male beardie and we're lucky to see him without a black beard still. It will be nice to see him relax and be more comfortable in his new enclosure and home.

    Poop (Sorry pictures)

We take all his food out 2 hours before his lights go out. His basking temps are anywhere from 95-105 depending how often we open his enclosure for a visit. :) He's still new to us and getting comfortable with us so we never take him out for very long at once either. We take temps with a...

    Poop (Sorry pictures)

A quick update. Our beardie just had another poop. YEAH!! :) The question I have is this - we noticed today that there are undigested things coming through - not sure why that would happen. There is squash, superworm parts, and some other things. We've read on the forum here that pumpkin and...

    Poop (Sorry pictures)

We've had our beardie for a couple weeks now - he's a 4yr old. He's been very regular - once a day, and sometimes even twice a day. His poops have been what we think are normal - a little liquid stuff, the white urate, and then the darker, more solid poop. This morning he had an "explosion"...

    Dirty Beardie?

Well, the Solar-Glo is the first light we've ever used. :) I have no complaints with it yet. It seems to give enough heat for our enclosure and we don't need to supplement the cool side at all either. The only other light we use is an 18" tube flourescent for some extra white light for him...

    Dirty Beardie?

We just got an adult beardie about 2 weeks ago - still sorting out a name for him - that wasn't receiving the BEST care. We gave him his first baths in his life and he was in a REALLY dirty viv. There was sand substrate that looked as if it hadn't been changed in months. Totally disgusting...

    How Much Greens?

We are proud new owners of a 4yr old beardie. He is eating pretty good, but it seems like he only eats the greens we give him about every other day. I'm wondering if we are giving too much and he eats lots one day but doesn't want any the next. So, how much greens do you guys give your adult...

    White Superworms?

We have a few superworms here in a bran/oatmeal mixture with some potato. We've noticed that a couple of them have turned white. Does anyone know why they do that? Thanks.

    Gaping Questions

Our 4 year old male beardie has been gaping allot, We know that gaping is a sign of high temps but his temps are between 98 and 105(digital with a probe). We also don't think it is just temp related because we had him out for a cuddle and when we put him back in the tank he started gaping...

    not eating much

My guess is that your thermometer will not read higher than the 120. Your basking temp should never get higher than 110. I would work on getting it a bit lower. You can use a lower wattage household bulb (of a similar style) to save some money. One other thing I noticed from reading through...

    Normal Behavior??

We just got an adult beardie (still sorting out a good name for him!) and he's adjusting to us slowly. The strange thing is that he totally loves me. I can pick him up and he is nice and calm. But my wife - that's another story. Since the first time she picked him up he will try for...

    Black Beard

I think the set up is ok for now! We are getting glass for our big viv today and then in the next couple days will get that tank set up. I will run through the set up that we have now. What type substrate do you have on the bottom of your tank? *We have paper and the slate rock that you buy...

    Black Beard

We just brought home a 4 year old male beardie - still sorting out a good name for him. I realize that black beards are "normal" and nothing to be overly concerned about. The odd thing is that when he wakes up his beard is pretty black, but then by the evening it is just sort of grey. I'm...

    Adult Care

Here is an updated picture. He's changed a lot after 2 days of good greens, a couple baths and a good house cleaning! It's amazing how different he looks already. He looks bigger than he is in this picture. He's only about 16": Another angle: We're getting his 4x2x2 viv finished up this...

    Canadian Veggies

I've been to the Beautiful Dragons nutrition list and it's GREAT! My biggest problem is I can't find very many of the daily staple greens here in Manitoba. I've been to every store in my town and can't find them. Been to Winnipeg (bigger city) and can't find collard greens. The best I've...
