    Possible beginning of a prolapse?

No offense taken, people are usually surprised he survived it. I got him when he was around 8 months old, he was about 11 inches in length obviously very small. I wasn't very prepared for their level of care required. I joined the site learned alot and knew I needed new supplies. Apparently...

    Possible beginning of a prolapse?

Ok, guess I may need to clarify a little, lol. Sydney is appx 3 years old, small for his age. He has MBD and fell when he was little. He developed a hump and it is fairly large now. Here are some pics to clarilfy how serious his back is. Oh, yes he still gets his calcium (flukers repticalcium...

    Possible beginning of a prolapse?

Ok, My poor Sydney's been having a bit of problems for the last few months. She's been having a little more trouble walking lately and her spine is starting to curve a little more sideways so that has probaly contributed to her problems. Sydney didn't poop for close to a month. I tried...

    Best type of sand?

Ok, Alex, I didn't plan to get that in depth with it...sorry. No, I already have some flat pieces of rock for Tripp to bask on. To be honest, it's heavy so I don't really like cleaning it often. Usually, he poops on it very rarely. Sid on the other hand is a special case. She has MBD with a...

    Best type of sand?

Ok, Sydney and Tripp are both over a year old. Well, Syd's over 2 and Tripp is over 4yrs old so they should be ok with sand. I feed them crickets in a seperate tank with carpet. I plan to put a small area of tile on one end so I don't worry about them eating the sand with their greens. (My...

    Adopted Beardie Is Finally Home!

Ok, finally got my new beardie home yesterday. I would have posted last night but I didn't realize how hard it is getting sand out of a 40 gallon tank :banghead: So, I traded it for the repti carpet, got all of his stuff cleaned out and got him in. He was a little cranky from being in the...

Rescued female with injury and illness

You could possible use jewelry elastic or a small piece of velcro to hold it on. I'm still working on my design for Syd's wheelchair. I want her legs to be able to hang but not have pressure on them. Husband thinks I'm nuts.

Rescued female with injury and illness

Judging by her size in the pic on pg 1, I don't think a scrunchie would fit. She looks like she is 10-11 inches long. Unless that was a really BIG pen. How long is she?

Rescued female with injury and illness

Best thing I could tell you is try and re-position her feet when she lays down. Syd can't really feel her hind end and sometimes she will lay wrong on them. I try to fix it when I notice it. I figure it can't be good for the joints. I know it would hurt if I laid like that. As for a...

Rescued female with injury and illness

Another thing you could try is using a soft toothbrush on her in the bath. Sydney has discovered that it feels like a backscratch. At first she looked at me like I was crazy...now she closes her eyes in peaceful bliss  You could gently brush her feet with it in the bath, that might...

    Skinny on craig's list

No, mom's not a beardie fan, she still asks how reptiles can show love. But, she knows I loves just about anything that moves, as long as it isn't an insect. I am not fond of spiders or bugs...but here's to hoping :blob8:

    Skinny on craig's list

I sent him a message offering $100 because I have to get the UVB light and bulb. Plus, my mom said she would buy him if I can talk him down. She lives in Longview and I can drive that far to get him. I am looking at getting one in the For Free forum, but he would have to ship from NY. I...

    Skinny on craig's list

Thought I would check with ya'll first. The dragon on here looks malnourished and dehydrated. I am thinking about getting him since he's not too far. Let me know what ya'll think. Supposedly he is 17 inches long and they have him in a 36" wide, 18" deep, and 16" tall enclosure. I will copy...

    Dying Lizard :/

Just as an FYI, I got Sydney's carpet (astroturf) at Lowe's. I bought like 5 square feet and it cost me like 5 bucks. I had enough carpet for Syd and my frog tank plus an extra set for each tank when I change it out and I still have more left over. When you get it, just wash it in very hot...

Rescued female with injury and illness

This may help clear up the tongue question. Syd gets mad when you walk near her when she's outside. I think she gets mad because she knows she's about to go back inside. If you need a closer look, I can crop it closer for ya.

Can I help with shedding beardie?

She's been doing great, getting very fat...which unforfortunatly accentuates her hump ALOT. Do you think it is normal for the area after the hump to remain kinda small. From her hips to her head, she's getting bigger. But hips and down, she's real thin. I was just wondering if that could...

Relocation Stress *Edit: No Poops Yet. :(

As for the tank issue, it might help if you cover 3 out of 4 walls of the tank, then maybe each week, take down one side. You could use construction paper or something on the outside. He may feel less vulnerable then. Just a thought anyway. Good luck!
