Smaug was 11.5" in january and has grown up to approx. 14" in length! Funny thing, the winter slowdown :S

Smaug seems to have an obsession with digging up his sand. When I had a look at his front feet the skin looks worn down. I am extremely concerned! Advice as always is welcome (witch hunting is not!) PS> I have already tried changing substrates and even that doesn't seem to stop him!

I've been hearing a lot about the mercury vapor bulbs,and I was wondering what the minimum tank size was in order to have one of these. At present Smaug lives in a 40 breeder with an Arcadia UV-B fluorescent tube and 100W Zoo Med heat lamp. What makes the MVB better?

I forgot how much Smaug loved his crickets (I bought some despite the fact they stink lol). I put some in his tank today and he was totally up for some carnage lol. The poor crickets didn't even know what hit them lol. Don't you think it must suck being a feeder insect? lol.

Just got myself a beardie in March. His name is Smaug and yes I did take that name from The Hobbit- although my dragon isn't quite as monstrous as the dragon in the book (or short tempered lol) He's currently 8" in length- I'm quite amazed by the growth rate in these guys. The rents won't let me...
