    putting sand in enclosure?

Impaction is more of a risk for baby Beardies, when they are older they generally don't ingest the sand or if they do they are better suited to deal with it. For my fella I have a tile floor and under the basking spot I have some suitable sand in a brick enclosure about a quarter of the size of...

    Beardie just pooped on me.

That's exactly what I do with Spyro, as soon as I get him out he has a quick bath and doesn't come out until he's done something. Like you said...a good was to control his poop cycle and also a great way to keep his viv clean...not to mention my sofa/couch or wherever he's exploring at the time :p

    How old...

...are Dragons before they stop growing completely? I'm just curious. For the first year I had Spyro I was worried that he wasn't growing fast enough, even thought he was a runt. But in the last 10 months or so he's had a real growth spurt and has even over taken some of my friends Dragons who...

    male brothers fighting?

When I first got my baby beardies I housed them together and they seemed completly fine. They weren't brothers but they were the same age and seemed to be getting on well in the viv together. There was no aggressive behaviour or fighting etc. But what I did notice was that, over a short period...

how long should they be out of the viv?

I tend to let Spyro out for as long as I can keep an eye on him. I'll give him a nice bath first (for hydration and to make sure he doesn't poop all over the place :p) and then he'll have the run of the place. He normally has a run around and explore and then he'll come and climb on my shoulder...

Where'd you get your beardies name?

Well I kinda got the idea for all my pets names from computer games, as there's so many of them about that I would never run out of inspiration. My two rats are called Mario and Luigi and my special boy beardie is called Spyro (after another great dragon :p)

    Just a question..

I don't think it would be a problem. The dragon should never come in contact with the bird anyway. Plus after you've finished handling a beardie you should wash your hands or use alcohol gel before doing anything else. As long as your friend does that there should be no need to be worried.

Is it anything to worry about?

I don't think it should be anything to worry about. As long as she's using her leg, as in to support herself, she should be fine. Spyro often lays with his back legs spread out like the first pic. I used to get worried when he was stood with one or more toes (and sometimes a whole "foot") bent...

    Long time coming!

So I've been using the forum for about a year now and have had loads of help off people with how to care for Spyro and I've been admiring everyone elses babies but I've never formally introduced Spyro. So...now's the time. Spyro's my 13 month old big, strong man. Hope you like the pics...he's a...
