    Frantic behavior, stopped eating

I had never thought about that possibility. Her stomach is a little bit lumpy looking (which isn't too out of the ordinary), but I cannot feel anything in there. Her restlessness is in line with being gravid, however she never went through a period of lots of eating (she had to be syringe fed...

    Frantic behavior, stopped eating

Our ADV-positive beardy has had a long journey and stopped eating for a few months. We got her back eating again for about 2 weeks, and she stopped eating again. But this time, she's exhibiting same fairly frantic behavior. She will constantly try to get out of her terrarium by scratching...

    Disambiguation between Adenovirus and Brumation

Head off a cricket. This worked the first time when she stopped eating but so far not this time yet unfortunately.

    Disambiguation between Adenovirus and Brumation

I've actually done that before actually! Just not successfully this time around. Every once in a while I can get her to eat some banana if I put it under her gums too.

    Disambiguation between Adenovirus and Brumation

Thanks! Nari went though a tough period maybe 9 months ago - she was syringe fed for about 3 months, then started eating on her own. She ended up getting parasites 2-3 months ago, and then stopped eating again I think that the parasites did a pretty good number on her this time. We are...

    Disambiguation between Adenovirus and Brumation

We have 2 bearded dragons with ADV, and it seems as though the symptoms of ADV often exactly mimic brumation: - Not eating - loss of energy - spending a lot of time in hide/not basking Because I would approach brumation and symptomatic ADV quite differently (and in some ways completely...

Can Subcut Lactated ringers be administered orally?

Thanks Tracie! She is doing OK, but definitely low energy - she will not get out of her hide to warm up unless we manually move her. @Claudiusx mentioned coaching people to get their beardies to eat again after syringe feeding. We've had to do this (successfully twice [once with this one...

Can Subcut Lactated ringers be administered orally?

Urate seems OK. It was non-existent (that I could see, mainly due to very runny poop) for about a month, but recently it's looking more normal. A bit off-white. We have gone through that with her before and out other beardie. Basically we would not feed them for about 2-3 days, and try to...

Can Subcut Lactated ringers be administered orally?

What do you define as small amounts? A teaspoon in her food instead of water perhaps? Thats what I use when I give her critical care. She is being fed about 10-14 ml per day, divided into 2 feedings. We syringe feed her, she has not eaten on her own in about 2 months. She went through this...

Can Subcut Lactated ringers be administered orally?

Thanks! What is the thinking behind the fruit juice? I've stayed away from things are that sugary. Her name is Nari :)

Can Subcut Lactated ringers be administered orally?

Thanks! Bloodwork was done to see if there was any organ issues due to ADV. We have been struggling with the anorexia, plus she is not gaining weight. Her food also seems to pass mostly undigested. The sunken eyes may be genetic, but they look different that when she was healthy. I do take...

Can Subcut Lactated ringers be administered orally?

Wrinkly skin (not visible in pic), sunken face (visible in pic), plus ever since she has had ADV she drinks a huge amount of water. Lately she seems to have given up drinking, or has forgotten how to do it like the food. Plus vet says she is likely dehydrated - which is why she gave us the...

Can Subcut Lactated ringers be administered orally?

The overriding problem is ADV. She is constantly dehydrated. Currently, she has not been eating on her own for about 3 months. She went through a terrible case of coccidia and pinworms 3 months ago and has not recovered very well. I believe she has actually "forgotten" how to eat. We've...

Can Subcut Lactated ringers be administered orally?

Our Bearded dragon is having a really rough time and has been somewhat dehydrated. The vet gave us lactated ringers and syringes, however the injections are causing a LOT of stress to the beardie. The stress might actually be making her worse. We are feeding her via syringe, and thought that...

    Dealing with high indoor temperatures

Thanks! Unfortunately, it gets super hot all day, and well into the evening as well. I've got a 4x2x2 enclosure, but since the ambient temperature is super hot, there isn't really anywhere in the enclosure that's an cooler :(

    Dealing with high indoor temperatures

Our house gets quite hot inside sometimes in the summer (30-35 degrees Celsius sometimes (95F)). We do not have air conditioning. It gets so hot that we could probably get away without a heat bulb (is this a good idea?) The challenge is that the "cool" side of the enclosure won't be the 70-75...

Is this some sort of tooth/jaw decay?

She is not eating on her own, we've been syringe feeding her for about 2 months (I have another thread on that). We are feeding her a mixture of: -Exo-terra Dragon grub juvenile: Exo Terra Dragon Grub Insect Pellets for Juvenile Bearded Dragons, mixed with warm water to make it a paste...

Is this some sort of tooth/jaw decay?

Thanks - Arcadia 12% 22 inch about 10 inches above her. Basking spot is currently about 100-105 measured with both a digital probe and a temp gun. I will look up Maxi Guard. Unfortunately Dubia roaches are not legal here in Canada as feeders.
