What I like about the playpen is the top edge. Once they climb the sides they cannot get out. My question is, do you worry they may climb to the top and then fall? I do love the idea though.

I know exactly how you feel. The first bd I had turned out to have some problems. After she could never get over a URI she had a growth in her throat. She had to be put down. Then I got another one and she was loaded wirh parasites of all kinds. Then she developed a URI too. After a long time...

My bd has a pillow in his viv , he will move it around some but I can always see him sitting up on it. Then at night he loves sleeping in his blanket. I have never heard of any bd ingesting parts of their bed or pillow. I would have no worries about offering them to your bd.
